Since everyone here loves to bash EB, I thought I would post a good comment. :)

A friend gave me a $50 EB card for my birthday, so I went in today. I intended to buy one of the baseball games, but did'nt know which one I wanted -- $30 MLB 2005 or $20 ESPN MLB 2K5. The woman who was working was the assisant manager and she's one of my best allies there, since I'm in there so much, very friendly and knows a lot of stuff.

I asked her what the feedback was on what was the better baseball game, and she admitted that she did'nt know. I did'nt know which game to buy and had both at the counter. Then she said "Tell you what -- buy both games and you can return to me the one that you like the least next week".

Some of you may recall the old days in which EB USED to do that. Never once has anyone offered to do that for me since then. :)

So I got both using the card. Who knows? I may end up enjoying both and keeping them, like I did with Madden and NFL last year. But at least the offer is there. :D

EDIT: This is at the EB in the Rhode Island Mall. Yes, I know the mall is almost dead, and there's one at the Warwick Mall the next one over, but I've always gone to this one, and it's just in a better location for me since there's a Wal-Mart there as well.

Is that Jen from the Rt. 44 EB? If so she's great. I'm always in there too and she goes out of the way to take care of her regulars. That's the nicest EB around here by far. The Gamestop guys in the next plaza are great too, that's the best area in RI to buy new games.

My EB's at Peabody and Danvers, MA use to be nice like that. Good to the regulars, informative, just generally nice people. They changed ownership, management, and staff and now they suck :(

You guys should find a way to report her to Gamestop and say how nice she is. I don't know if I'd mention she bent company policy for you, but I'm sure you can find a way to complement her.

Some companies I worked for would give out awards and prizes if a customer wrote in a good thing about you.

Yuppicide is right. Management loves to get compliments on employees (they are so used to getting complaints) and it can really help the employee. I had a friend that got promoted at a restaurant based on two separate customer letters complimenting him. Good idea!

Oh RI mall, yeah the girl there is pretty nice too. I'm not much of a fan of the Warwick Mall EB, it's kind of messy and they don't have much. Have you been to the one in Smithfield on Rt. 44 off 295? Thant one's really nice, with a bunch of demo TVs where they'll but any game in you want to try out.

I have'nt been up to Smithfield yet. I'm in Providence now, and I used to be in Coventry, and it was just easier and quickest to hit the one in the Rhode Island Mall, since I often pick up some things from Wal-Mart while I'm there.

If I'm in the Providence Place Mall for something I'll stop in the EB store there also. I've found some things there I did'nt see in any other locations. It's amazing how much they can pack into that tiny store. :eek 2:
