Do you prefer your next-gen Sonic games to be mainly Sonic with 1 or 2 companions like the old days, or Sonic with lots of companions like the Sonic Adventure games?

Sonic with friends. Imho the key selling point to Sonic 2 to make it so successful was introducing a new character/side kick. I think we went crazy of the fact you had a choice between the two.
Yet, the other side of me says, there are too many damn characters right now. It was more simple during the GG and Genesis days
my biggest problems are the lastest characters added...Cream the Rabbit and Big the Cat <-- both designs are just sad...and both characters are worthless
Now since the annoucement of the Shadow game, the series has taken a whole new turn...but it won't be the first time the series has had side-stories/spin-offs
many fans fought and complained about Sonic Heroes..wanted the solo missions...but you just couldn't do that.
Maybe Sonic DS will fix these problems

Sonic has way too many "friends", all we need is Sonic, Tails & Knuckles. That's it!
So I voted "Mainly Solo"

Have to go with solo. I really enjoyed the old games but the new ones make me sad. must be the voice acting :/

Sonic with freinds. Makes the games longer, wich is better for me, Since some games are Too easy for me.

Just Sonic, maybe toss in Tails and Knuckles as tag alongs in certain levels.

nothing can top Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. they were the original trio. and it was the best that way. not with this bizzaro-world of Sonic line up of characters. it was just better with the three of them.

Sonic with friends, but not too many. The Sonic Adventure games for Dreamcast had, I felt, the right amount of characters to make them feel like "bigger" games, but I think Sonic Heroes takes it somewhat overboard....
I must confess that this vote is primarily in support of my 7-year-old son, who just adores the whole mythos in both games as well as the Sonic X cartoon. Gotta watch my kid's back, you know...

Sonic has too many friends. In Sonic Adventure 2 I spent half the time playing through those AWFUL Tails/Robotnik (no, I won't call him Eggman), levels just to get back to the fun part: Playing with Sonic or Shadow.
They need to go back to the Sonic 3/Sonic & Knuckles idea... You can play as multiple characters, but you select one character and go through the game as that specific character.

I completely agree with this statement.
Sonic Heroes was nice since it brought the Chaotix guys back into the fold, but I personally think the idea of Cream, Big, Rouge and Robotnik being playable characters is stupid. Shadow slips through because he's so damn cool, and his back story is kinda interesting.
Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy is where it is at. Amy gets old skool cred, she was in Sonic CD and Sonic R as well as the newer games. ;) I like her original design better as well.

There's nowhere near as much focus as there should be on JUST Sonic these days - it's sad.
A Shadow game where he uses a gun? What?
