Supposedly the information was discovered in a SEC filing. I've searched everywhere on the net for it, and I can't find it.
Can anybody find a link to this?
probably just a bogus rumor.

That pretty much keeps consistent with all the Oct/Nov release date rumors that have been flying around for some time.

The one thing that I was dissappointed with the xbox was a lack of japanese games. I really only bought the xbox for the sega games (jet set radio future, gunvalkyrie, panzer dragoon orta) and for the "better" version of ports (splinter cell, silent hill 4, etc.). I'll probably pass on the xbox next.

That's exactly 20 days after my 25th birthday. Coincidence? ...Yes.
So far this thing looks pretty sweet. If it's backwards compatible I'll be getting it on launch day - if not, probably not for a while.

Xbox was a disturbing flop in Japan. And they got more exclusive console designs than we did. Let's just hope that it doesn't get named something animal like (Jaguar, Lynx), ironic (Phantom), or misspelled (Turbografx.)
And let's hope that they release an adult verion of it called SexBox. Maybe not.

Another "confirmed" rumor, if not mentioned before, was that they are going to release Halo 3 the same day or week as the PS3. Can't wait for that day in the retail world. That would be KRAZY!

Microsoft wants the hardcore gamers out there to have a very good idea that Xbox Next is coming, because most people can only afford to buy 1 $300 system per year.
For alot of gamers that choice is going to be PSP or XBOX Next

Hmm...two days before my birthday. I dunno, I think I'm going to have to really look into the xbox next to see what games will be in development when it gets closer to the date to see if I even want one. My xbox has been fun for emulation and watching movies but why play a PC port when I can play the game on my PC?

Microsoft has stated MANY times that they will have their new system out before Sony and that if we were to have one Xmas with one but not the other that it would be THEIRS (Microsoft).
They want this Xmas to themselves and Im under the impression that we will see the Next Xbox this November FOR CERTAIN if not sooner.
A fall release maybe? :hmm:

Haven't looked at a calendar but I too would be suprised if they would release it just after the second biggest shopping day of the year.

You're right still plenty of time. But if they are going to release it around that time anyway, why not make it available the day after Thanksgiving?

Hmmm.... I wonder if taking the Microsoft "leaking information" strategy would work better than Nintendo's "keep it secret 'till the year before launch at E3".

According to the Xbox rep, it won't be, or most likely won't be.
I'll be holding off for quite a while myself considering I only have a measly 12 Xbox games (vs GCNs 30+, and PS2s 80+....both of which next gen consoles should be backwards compatable)
