I have no luck at Goodwill anymore due to their auction website. There's just nothing to be found.

I have both a Salvation Army and a Goodwill pretty close by, but both completely suck when it comes to games. I mean, every time I'm there, there is usually NOTHING game-related. Not even cheap Atari or Genny games.

Wait. The other day they had NFL 2K for the DC...no manual, either...

I once heard that someone else here on DP is from Beaver Falls (PA)...anyone?

Hey, don't forget ARC.. they have some pretty good stuff sometimes. I believe DAV also operates some thrift stores.

Anyway, in my experience, finding good stuff depends more on the location of the store, and less on what the actual store is.

Goodwill for me, problem is that there is only one around me for miles, there's four salvation armys by me and most are dry. They have been cleaning them up as of late so there has been more stuff to be had. I just went to the one in McHenry and it's normally a slime hole, but they were loaded, for a decent price too, they had a Complete Genny with 8 complete games for $39.99, and a Snes with 3 games for $29.99. The thing that really broke my heart was that they had a PC for sale, Celeron II, 9 GB harddrive, Windows 98SE, 52x24x48x CD burner, mouse, keyboard, and clean 15" monitor for only $59.99. I wanted it so bad because I want to get an older PC Windows 98 capable that I can play classic pc games on, and on top of that there is a guy that owns a used computer store and he is giving me a free B Drive on the weekend. It would have been a perfect computer for what I wanted it for. It's really a shame I lost my job at this time. x_x

Goodwill for me. Salvation usually just has junk but sometimes I do run across something nice. Never been to that last one.

Since the local Salvation Army closed even before I started collecting, I'd have to say Goodwill.

Need to add none of the above to the poll. I have a Sal Army near me but don't go there often cause they never have much. I do well at Value Village and local thrift stores. I my travels I have been into some VOA's and they were better than the GW or SA, but there are none near me. I have also had good luck at Savers and Deseret Industries when traveling out west.

yeh, Never any finds at S.Army (Pasadena) -- but did find a huge CED collection down at Goodwill; including those pseudo interactive movie titles! :eek 2:

Goodwill for me, I found a complete Phantasy Star for $2.99, and various other NES/SNES/Genesis games. Salvation Army always leads to nothing every single time I go.

Goodwill. I'm not telling my best deals.. Someone from my local area might start watching my local goodwill from dawn to dusk..

None of the above.

Never had luck at Goodwill or Salvation Army.

There are two great stores in a certain suburb of Milwaukee that I won't let anyone know about ;) Lunar for Sega CD complete for $6 heh, and a bunch of other Sega CD games.

None of the above. The Value Village option is inexplicably absent. VV would have been my choice.

I'm gettin' a job at Goodwill this summer... I'll be marking the prices on the games and what not, and I get first dibs on games before the people in the store.
