I've been looking into getting a Neo-Geo, but I find the Cart Console (Neo-Geo AES. Yeah) is TOO DAMN EXPENSIVE...

Is the Neo-Geo CD system a good Alternative to the AES providing I don't mind Loadtimes...and don't mind Japanesse in my games?

Also.. How much should I play for a Neo-Geo CD system with one or two *More common, less expensive* Games?

In Japan, one bare System, controller + Hookups can be found for at least $65. A nice complete boxed, for a minimum of $99. Just add the usual $65-75 shipping fee (EMS, Airmail cannot take anything above 2Kg/4 lb) and there you go.

Common nice games like KoF '98 usually go for $10 or less.
UNCOMMON games like Metal Slug usually stop at the hundred bucks.

If you can withstand the awful loading times, then it should be enough. If you preffer speed go after the NeoGeo CDZ and try to find one under $150. If you succeed tell me where got it so I can have mine as well :-P

Head start on a CDZ. I have no intention of buying a neo, so may as well post it here.

8. Please limit your topics to BUYING and SELLING items only. Asking questions of an item's worth or what a good price for an item doesn't really belong here. These type of questions should be posted in the video game forum (or ebay insanity if you see it on there. ) The only exception to this is an attempt to resolve a deal here. (ie. the orochi where are you? thread)

Moved to the video game forum.

The CDZ does have overheating issues. If you get one, make sure to let it cool down instead of playing all day. I didn't have any problems with mine, but YMMV.

If you don't mind a little loading, it's definitely a cheaper way to go. Plus, you can pop the CD's into a CD player and listen to the soundtrack, and there's often extra features (i.e. Combat School in Metal Slug). There are also a few CD exclusives. I say buy one, if you have the money.
