Excellent trailor with huge emphasis on gameplay cuts. Mounted horseback combat is particularly impressive.

Is it just me or are there a lot of LOTR like refferences?
With the first trailer we had that HUGE battle front, and That Fire Creature that looked very similar to the Balrog.
And with this one, That city of the Dead like place with those ghosts and the Tunnel with the Shelob like creature?
Looks Amazing though!

No, you're not. I'm going to be a dissenter here and say I'm not gleeful with the footage.
Nintendo missed the boat with something really special as far as I'm concerned. I'm in the minority in saying that Wind Waker was my favorite incarnation of The Legend of Zelda. I truly feel that WW captured the wonderment of the original Zelda to absolute perfection and was the game that Miyamoto set out to make back in 1987.
To me, Wind Waker had the one element missing from 99% of the games released these days; heart. It had a joyfulness that is extremely rare to experience. And the graphical style of the game was a major catalyst for this. Expressive and vibrant characters, uncannily atmospheric dungeons, and a beautiful, evolving, epic world were brought to life in a way no other game had before.
While I realize this is just a trailer, it seems to me that they've ditched all that unique personality in favor of a more realistic, cinematic presentation. It distresses me to see one of my favorite series, which created the genre it single-handedly evolved, adapt a “me too” attitude with its presentation. Regardless, this is still, undoubtedly, a Zelda game, and I'm sure it will be great. But I, for one, will miss the magic of Wind Waker and the possibilities of what might have been.

I wouldn't say that I'm disappointed with the footage, and I would say I'm more interested in it than I have been of any Zelda game since the original, but I agree. I kind of wish that Nintendo had spun Zelda and / or Celda off into two different series. Both are quality games, but if they change between the two styles it will do nothing to help enhance the series, and a lot to hurt it.

They can always use the "The Wind Waker" style for future Four Swords Titles should they make them... 3D four swords on revolution would be awesome!
But I've got mixed feeling on the new game as well, on one side I'm glad its going back to the more adult presentation... on the other I will deffinately miss the super-styleized look of The Wind Waker, which is easilly the most Beautiful *3D* game ever released.
And people constantly ask me why I continue to hang onto my stupid GameCube.......
This is the sole reason.
(well, that and getting my offline PSO character to level 200....just so that I can say that I did).

I loved the Wind Waker and I love the art style in it. But I look at it this way...the graphics were a perfect match with the enviroment and the fact that Link was a child. Now, as he appears to be an adult, the more realistic art style makes sense. You could argue that they never had to go in this direction, but I don't see a problem with switching things up a bit...especially after so many people wanted this game. So I like both...and I can't wait for this game :D

Well, there's no such thing as 'realistic' graphics in a videogame, regardless of its visual style. I kinda miss the diversity from the last console generation, when designers were still discovering what you could do with 3D polygons. Now, everything looks the same, and I'm a little bored.
I'm looking forward to this next Zelda, especially since I loved Ocarina of Time so much. I'm also playing Minish Cap here and there, and that's a lot of fun. My only concern is that this newest sequel will offer nothing really new, and prefer to stick to the formula.
Condering Zelda is a 20-year-old game, I'd be eager to see some real invention in the gameplay. Heck, just when is Zelda going to stop playing the helpless lilttle Barbie doll and start fighting herself? Can't Link be the one who has to be rescued for once?
November, eh? That's a damned long wait for Gamecube owners.

If anything, Wind Waker was a departure of the series more than any other game (aside from Four Swords and other spinoffs in the works). I don't know how you're able to say that they're ditching anything when they're sticking to the HIGHLY original formula that Ocarina created.
I liked Wind Waker, and I don't know how anyone can say it looked bad, it had a fantastic style but there was something horribly missing from the game. Difficulty. It was one of the easiest games I've ever played and it was absolutely aimed at very small children. I didn't die once across the entire game, and even Ganon wasn't able to drop me below half health. That's about the biggest sellout thing I've ever witnessed Nintendo do.
The company is definitely back on the right track and I can't believe any of you are able to say you're disappointed with a trailer that shows nothing other than what the game will look like. No information on the theme of the game, no info on any kinds of dungeons or locations, no information on the steeds, hell, not even a name for the game yet.
Give it til May and then we'll find out what the game is all about. If it's really a cookie cutter sequel of OoT then I'll be just as disappointed as the rest of you but it'll still be an absolutely FANTASTIC game. There will definitely be something about the game to make it stand out from the rest of the Zelda games, and there will definitely be innovation.

I mean of course I want it to me better and have new things, but if it is anything like OOT, the best game ever made, i will be pretty happy.
That said, I never got into the Windwaker that much, although I did like it, and like most on here have been waiting since '99, the releas of MM, for a new Zelda like this!

It was one of the easiest games I've ever played and it was absolutely aimed at very small children.
The first comment can be said about every Zelda game. Ocarina of Time definitely included.
And I don't understand your second remark. "Aimed at very small children".
That's ridiculous to say. Spongebob Squarepants and Cartoon Network games are aimed at small children. The Legend of Zelda is aimed at gamers of every age, of every creed, and of every skill level. That's the beauty of the series.
It's not so pretentious as to present itself as anything other than an amazing gaming experience for anyone who wants to try it. Thus, the series has such a dedicated and enthralled fan base. It's just incredibly disappointing that so many people who played Wind Waker couldn't get past the presentation and find the heart of the game.
As for your other comment regarding presentation, I disagree TLoZ: WW was any sort of departure, but this is a very subjective comment. I feel that the technology did not exist at the time of OoT/MM for the Zelda development teams to make the sort of world that exists in Wind Waker. Thus they didn't take a more "realistic" approach for their world creation, but simply a realistic one with what they could accomplish on the hardware given.
But of course, that's speculation based on the obvious enjoyment Miyamoto's team had in creating Wind Waker with the look and style they wanted to.

This looks absolutely amazing! I must admit, though, that I couldn't really get into wind waker that much. I loved the cell shading, but I absolutely hated traveling across that ocean. Not that it doesn't look great.I agree. While I will buy and enjoy this game, I really wanted to see a new Cel Shaded Zelda. God I hate the mass market for not liking that game. Fuckers. Celda looked awesome. It was a cartoony style all its own. If the game weren't so short, it'd be perfect. I really wanted a sequel where the waters recede and they discover that Hyrule is really down below and all the islands are the tops of mountains. Think about how much more fun it'd be if you could explore the real Hyrule below instead of all that sailing?
*sigh*
Don't neglect us of another Celda.
Also, insert Rant about IGN's stupidity of using WMV as the "Free" download while making people pay to use the Quicktime versions. Mother freakers.
I'm done. That said, I can't wait anyway. Even if the Xbox 2 did come out, I'd still buy this game first. Especially for the Cube. Show them you don't need to release another system to get a better game from the current one.

I honestly didn't mind the cartoon look of the first GC Zelda.. It was the fact that I didn't die once and almost all the puzzle elements were taken from OOT so you knew to shoot the eye with an arrow.

To me, WW really went well out of it's way to cater to very young gamers simply so they could finish the game. I know plenty of 8 year olds (like when i was one) are able to breeze through the game just as easily. The complete lack of difficutly really detracted from the game.
And i love the sytle WW had, it was the total lack of actual panic or worry that I might come anywhere near dying at any point in the game is what ranks it as a good game from me, not a great one. It's probably an unfair comparison but I died 39 times in Resident Evil 4, and hell I'm playing through links adventure DX on my SP and I've died 25 times. I absolutely know I've died an assload in both of the NES Zeldas and I know I died a few times going through Ocarina.
I didn't die ONCE. I don't know what it looks like to die in WW. I'm not using number of deaths to gauge the greatness of a game (as I personally don't feel DX is all that great), but there's gotta be some difficulty to make it satisfying enough to play through. I beat WW largely because the story was rather interesting and the visuals were absolutely enough to drive the game for me.

After reading two pages of "ooohs" and "aaahs" I expected Princess Zelda to jump out of the screen and kiss me or something. It doesn't look to be mind-blowing impressive (certainly not the best graphics or art-direction of this generation), but I'm sure it will be another enjoyable romp in Hyrule.

I think I died once in Ocarina of time, and havent died yet in Majoras Mask (just now playing tha tone). I did die in Wind Waker at least once. Ocarina wasnt a difficult game though, and Majoras Mask isn't appearing to be difficult (I am on the Zora level), so I don't know why anyone would have expected Wind Waker to be. I did have a hard time finding that leaf that plays the fiddle in WindWaker.
You must know some smart 8 yr old to have completed the game, because some puzzles (like the fiddling leaf) have quite a bit of time before it's actually solved. Or was that a side quest/ I don't know, I try to play all the side quests I can (Thanks to majoras mask for having the Bombers notebook.)

I am EXTREMELY EXCITED for this game. While the Wind Waker was an enjoyable game, I was not exactly a fan of its graphic style. I like the realistic-type Zelda much better.
I am in love with the art style, and I am very happy that Nintendo decided to move away from the WW. I will most certainly be picking this up ASAP.

Ocarina had the water temple if you really wanted hard...quite frankly that temple killed all my interest in finishing the game. Took me a month to go back to it. Majora's Mask isn't difficult by itself, but finding all the fairies in the temples can be nerve wracking.
Wind Waker was so ridiculously easy, which is sad, because the game was really fun.

I wasn't expecting it to be RE4 difficult, but I also wasn't expecting it to be intensely easy.
I find RE4 to be "intensely easy". I think it's probally the easiest RE game.
Saying it's the easiest RE game is far different than saying it's the easiest Zelda game. And I wasn't alluding to the fact that RE was ridiculously hard, but it certainly held a lot more challenge than most current action games. It had a perfect balance of difficulty and reward for me.

WEEE!
I think the trailer looked great! I'm excited, and can't wait for the game to come out. This year is going to be a good year all around!

I think WW was just the right difficulty for me. I just wish there was more of it. I'd take a really long game full of relatively easy battles as long as there's lots of them, over a short and extremely difficult one.
