After a year of ignoring the latest generation of gaming, I finally got an Xbox, and it is a very exciting system. Right now I only have JSRF and GT 2002 (the ones that come with the Sega bundle). They're both pretty excellent games. One thing I can't figure out, is why Microsoft didn't make a bigger deal out of the hard drive. I REALLY love the ability to save without the memory cards, and the ability to replace the soundtrack (with some games) is absolutely wonderful! It should be a standard for every game. Most the time I don't like the sound track to a video game, so I love being able to replace it. I'm finally starting to be impressed with the titles that are coming down the road too.

Anyway, I don't think Microsoft does enough to sell (and utilize) the cool little features that make the Xbox different. There is plenty out there to single out the Xbox for, besides the online gaming.

Like the dearth of games, for example. Har, har, har.

That's all.

The soundtrack reature is relly cool,I just wished they used it in more games. And once they start getting downloadable content going on Xbox Live, then you will see the power of the hard drive! :D 8-) :-D

I like my xbox, too. I'm a fan of the system. IT's the closest thing to Dreamcast 2, except without as many cool Sega titles.

I have to say that the PS controller is unbeatable for long term comfort. I get trigger hand from the DC-esque triggers on the Xbox-s controller.

i agree with ianoid, and plus the xbox controller reminds me of dremcast controllers except the dreamcast controller didn't have the white and balck buttons like the xbox controller has.

You know, Microsoft did a new controller called the Controller "S" and included it in the Sega bundle. They're smaller, and the button placement is excellent. It's really a lot more comfortable than the big, standard controller. I have a PS1, and have logged many hours on a dual shock, and I dare say that after spending a couple of hours with the S controller, it's more comfortable than the Sony controller. I haven't noticed a single cramp in the thumbs (and I'm cruising through Sega GT and JSRF pretty steadily. I'll have to get some new games soon). I highly recommend it for anyone with an Xbox -- who gripes about the standard controller.

Sorry, Ianoid. I guess I didn't read your post closely enough. I see that you do have the Xbox S controller. Oh well. It must be taylor made for my hands or something, because I really like it.

The S controller is too small for my hands :( The button layout is very nice however...

I like the bigger controller, but the button layout is too close to the right analog stick for my thumbs, and those angled buttons make it hard for me to pull of my tricks on Tony Hawk 2X...grrrr I can't find a controller I really like for it yet. And I hate having to spend $30 each time I want to audition a new controller...

And if they ever completely lose the d-pads on controllers, I will be completely lost on a Tony Hawk game...I CANNOT play those with an analog stick...and I HAVE to play Tony Hawk games...

But I love my XBOX :D

Just a warning about the Madcatz MicroCon controller.

It's a very neat small controller, however has a bad design flaw.

When the analog sticks are moved all the way in any given direction, you cant press them down as buttons.

Making jumping in Unreal Championship a real pain in the ass.
