Can I post a link to an ebay auction of mine here? I didn't see anything specifically forbidding it in the "Buying and Selling" rules. I didn't wanna post it in insanity because, well, that's generally just for insane stuff, not for stuff you're actually selling. Anyway:
I've got a Sony IVO-V11 portable CD-I unit with 12 hrs left. Only reason I'm posting a link is because a lot of people have no idea these exist, and thus wouldn't think to search for them on ebay. I'm keeping one for myself, and I've been screwing with it all week.

DP value is like $175

Now why did yours sell for TWICE what Brand New ones have been selling for the last 2 years. O_O

I dunno, it's ebay. Right buyer at the right time, I guess. Stuff happens.
Search "completed auctions" for "CD-I" and sort by price. One sold for $260 a few weeks ago. Yeah, it had a couple of games, but not $160 worth of games. These things retailed for a TON of money when they first came out.
Anyway, I've got a couple more of these, feel free to PM if interested.
I've also got ONE with some cosmetic imperfections that I'd be willing to let go either for cheap or a neat trade (preferably other hardware, but we can talk).

Yea but theres a guy that sells them for $50 new. He always has one listed.
Just wondering why people don't search first ?

The auction was over when I posted about the price.
So not to be rude but you can stick Rule # 6 where the sun don't shine. :P

Not really. The Sony CD-i portables are not Digital Video upgradeable so you can't play Video Cd's or some of the CD-i's best games like 7th Guest and Zelda's Adventure which require it. I would go with Philips CDI 370 portables or at the very least the CDI 350 or 360.
Got to www.icdia.org for a complete overview of all known produced CD-i players.

I'd like to find a CDI-370, but they seem to go for relatively insane money.
You could probably buy three of these for what'd it'd cost you to buy one of those. All depends on what you want to do with it I suppose.

I'm reviving this thread, I've got another one up for auction.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8177962170
$100 Buy-It-Now.
I put one up for that last night, and it sold in less than 2 hours.
There's the one on ebay now and two more.
If you'd rather deal off-ebay, that's fine, but the ones that I'm listing up there are going to go quick, apparently. I just want rid of them so I can buy some goodies for my car.
I've also got a cosmetically imperfect one that's $50, but it seems to already have been spoken for by a DP member.
PM if you're interested in any of this.

Haha, well, the one I listed this morning just sold, again in under 2 hours.
Buyer is in Italy, and says he wants multiple units. These may very well be gone by the end of the day. If you're interested, PM me pronto.
If someone emails me at cforsdavis@yahoo.com and offers me $150/unit, you can undercut this guy, because so far he only won the one unit on ebay.
I may try and get more of these, but only if I have a firm commitment from people on here that they want them (firm commitments = paid in advance).
EDIT: EVERY unit is now gone or spoken for. I am getting a couple more, anyone interested needs to PM me in a big hurry.

I have a couple of buyers from this last round who appear to be moving slowly......
I'm not going to sell anything out from under anyone, but if these transactions end up going bad, I'll have a couple more units for sale.
This'll include ONE mint unit and then the one that's cosmetically imperfect.
Mint unit = $100 + Shipping
Not-mint unit = $50 + Shipping (this is a steal, take this off my hands)

BUMP
Cosmetically Imperfect unit is now on ebay with a $50 BIN.
Shipping in the US is like $15, to give you an idea.
