I have a neo geo AES which has been modded for true stereo sound. Is is possible to have the system modded to Component out(or even S-video?) Is there anyone here that can do that? Just curious, John

I'm going to shuffle this over to the video game forum, I think you might get a better response there.

AES outputs R/G/B (quality varies by serial number) so you could work with that and build or buy a R/G/B to component converter. The S-video mod is documented and should be googlable.
The good thing about a R/G/B to component converter is that you could use that with other consoles too. I've built this one (http://www.siliconchip.com.au/cms/A_102648/article.html) and to my eyes it works as good as the retail products.

The answers to your questions are "yes" and "omnedon at the tech and restoration forums (and probably a few other people there, too)".
Be sure to get a socketed Universe BIOS installed with that, too.

Yes and yes. Fabombjoy did mine recently. He added stereo out, composite out, and a light up reset button. I am very happy with the results.
Edited because I am an idiot.

FABombjoy does component too? I was under the impression hed did composite and S-Video with his mods. That's what I usually do. FABombjoy does excellent work BTW, and he's in the US.
I can put component in, but it requires an expensive encoder, that doubles the price of the mod. S-Video is very good, and I see component on a 15 year old system as diminshing returns, to say the least. Big $$$ spent, for a 15% improvement over S-Video mod.

Yeah, it is compostie, not component. My bad. Not sure if he does component or not. Composite sure does look sweet though.

Yeah, just s-video here.
I figure, if you're going to add component to any system, you might as well spend a little more and go with an external RGB->Component converter. That way, you can enjoy the benefits on all RGB capable systems.
Again, I'm going to put in an official request for the R G B word filter to be removed. It is so not funny anymore.

S-Video is better. Better colour, no moire effects, and greatly reduced colour bleed, making for great clarity.
Component is a step above S-Video, but like I said before, it's a only *bit* better, for a lot more $$$.
