Nice find on Guilty gear, klausien! I also was lucky enough to find a complete copy a month or two ago. Although I traded it off.

well actully i didnt find it, my roomate was on a road trip to florida for spring break and called me and told me he had found one at a thift shop and asked me if it was worth it. Hey vroom nice find. What's the deal with those sega cards? Is that a pal format only? I actually saw a sega system with the turbo grafx looking card slot about a week ago and passed on it. I thought it was pricey, plus I didn't know what the hell it was.

The Sega cards are pretty cool .. and not too easy to find in the wild. The actual games are no different than the full size cart versions. I'm not sure why exactly they were re-released in this format - perhaps they were cheaper like this? But yeah, I was most pleased with them, and with Colditz ... and I guess I don't need to say that when I saw Phantasy Star II for 49p I nearly fainted :D

There are US-released Sega Cards, too (my friend has Spy vs. Spy), the card slot is only on first model Master Systems/Power Base Converters. I believe there's a total of 10 different card games, and most of them also have regular cart versions. I'd check the DB, but... *cough*

No recent acquisitions here, though I am awaiting the arrival of a good number of items...

Haven't been on the hunt for vintage stuff too much lately, having spotted a lot of decent deals for current-gen titles. But I went on the prowl today after I missed out on a good Genesis deal in the paper this morning. A guy was moving a Genesis, Sega CD, 32x and Game Gear all for $50 CDN. (~$38 US). Somebody beat me to it though.

I hit a store in town that I haven't been to in years, and saw a lot of $0.99 NES and SNES games. Sure, a lot are sports titles, but I think I'll go back on Sunday for a more thorough look and see if I can start padding my collection. I unloaded a lot of games many years back and wish I never had. I've got a lot of re-collecting to do. :)

The boxed NES was $20 shipped off ebay.

The Complete NES games were $2 each at a local flea market. The carts and instructions were mint and Gauntlet came with a poster and Ultima:QotA came with a nice mint map.

The Adventure of Link - The two of these together are the shiniest copies I've ever spotted in the wild. So even though I already had multiples of each, I could not pass them up. :-P
Crystal Mines by Color Dreams (Could someone tell me the value on this one?)
And my personal favorite find was the 1st issue of Nintendo Power completely intact and in great condition. Also the issue from early 1989 with Link on the cover sans hat and his back toward the reader. And last but not least, four issues of the Nintendo Fun Club Magazine.

Went to three thrifts and two had NES games I already had and Genesis sports titles. I did find a Boxed 2600 with 4 boxed common games and all of the hook ups for $15. The price seemed hight to me but the box was in very nice shape so I bought it.

While waiting for a battery to be installed in my car at Sears, went shopping in the mall at the Game stops. Found the Guy Game (xbox) used for $34.99 High, :roll: but I wanted it so took advantage of the Buy 2 get one free and got Kolnoa 2 (ps2) and Fable (xbox). I also wanted Fable so got two games I was going to buy anyway and Klonoa 2 for free.

At the Funco Land in the Mall picked up a gold N64 controler for 9.99 and a n64 Ram expansion for 14.99 and got a PS 2 Spiderman controler for free.

I found myself a Sharp TV/Nintendo Combo Unit at the fleamarket!!

I never thought I'd find one in the wild. BEST part is that it came in GREAT condition with no scratches on the screen and nothing broken, AND also came with the original two black NES controllers and remote control !!!!

I've never seen one so complete. I can die now in peace. :D

And by the way, I paid no money for it...I merely traded the guy 10 games for it: Metroid Prime, Super Mario Sunshine, The Guy Game, Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid 2, Mario Kart Double Dash, and four other so so current console games. I only paid anywhere from $3.99 to $11 each for the games I gave up!

I saw a ton of cool stuff up there. Anyone who complains about not being able to find cool game stuff in NYC is on crack, it's everywhere.... I passed on so much stuff.

Some crazy lady in a tiny Chinatown shop wanted $85 for a boxed Sega CD Version 2. She's gotta be kidding me.

There was a MIB JPN Pink Game Boy Pocket in Little Korea. $55, but I passed.
