View Full Version : wut is turbo express, gameaxe, nomad kind of gaming called?

You know what I'm talking about. Like gaming on handhelds where the games ere originally ment for a console system. Is it just called handheld gaming or called something else. Eg. Nomad, Turbo Express, Game Axe, etc.

They're just called handhelds. Now say, if you used something like a Master Gear Convertor to play SMS games on your Game Gear, that's a convertor.

I always call things like that, and the Virtual Boy, portables.

Original Products like the Game Boy are Handheld game systems, Nomad and Turbo Express are Portable Game Consoles. ...Virtual Boy *for me* falls in to my portable catagory since it isn't really a console but and its meant for on the go play, but it doesn't fit in the hands...

Yeah but that's not what he is saying He is talking about handheld game systems that were designed to play carts normally used on home systems.

I don't think those have a seperate name, man. But they should. Think of one. :)

but then you have the current gen systems with attachable monitors....and that throws in a whole nother aspect to the question
