Well it's been a while since Mario Sunshine came out. We have had the time to play it conquer it and enjoy it to its maximum. So now its time to say the TRUTH. Did you enjoy the game, were you disapointed, happy, or wanted more.

I bought the game the first day it came out. I played it about 30 minute a day, due to me being bussy. I did enjoy the game, but the fact was that it was not as good as mario64. I give this game a 6/10. I wanted something else. Remember I am a Gamecube fanatic so I'm not favoring another system this is the truth.

I think it is a good game, but just don't like it as much as everybody else. What really makes me mad is the camera, but I don't wanna start a big argument over it.I would give it an 8 out of 10. :( @_@

I friggin LOVE Nintendo.. and I was absolutely nuts on Mario64, but quite honestly Super Mario Sunshine, while good.. sort of lost my interest halfway through. It was almost to the point where it was drudgery to try and finish the game.

I mean it's good, but I found my attention going to other games shortly afterward. Right now I'm more immersed playing Super Metroid and the original Phantasy Star on the GBA than I ever was with Super Mario Sunshine.. :hmm:

I was disappointed because all the hype led me to believe that it would be more than what it was. I'm not saying I hated it but I liked Mario 64 better. I agree with NE146 that it was almost a pain to finish it.

Halfway through the game I also found myself tired of it. I just wanted to get it over with. The Battle with the final master was not that great either. We all know that Mario endings suck, atleast this ending was better than the one in Mario64.

I really enjoyed the first 1/2 of the game : the initial excitement of playing a new mario game, gradually learning Mario's new moves, finding Yoshi and exploring every corner of each new world. But ....the ending was definitely lame. Any ending you take 20-30 hours of play time to get to, and is over with in 5 minutes on your first try, is lame.
To be honest, my memory of Mario Sunshine is most tainted by the fact that my reward for collecting 120 shines was ONE LOUSY PICTURE at the end of the game. I spent an extra 20 hours easy scouring each world for those last blue coins, collecting 100 coins, and completing those stressful red coin time challenges. This part of the game was sheer drudgery, and having virtually no reward for doing it made me feel pretty stupid for having wasted my time.

Final look at super mario sunshine - I don't WANT to take another look at it, that's why I sold it :)

Most disappointing game I've had in a long time. Honestly, I haven't liked much Nintendo has released since the SNES I've noticed, YES that includes ALL of the zelda games as well as sunshine.

I played them quite a bit but I lost interest long ago and I haven't played it for a month now. I had probably 15 Shines at this point.

I took it out for the first time in a while a few days ago. It's just too frustrating. I'm not too crazy about this "non-linear" trend in games, and this one is a good example of why; when I can do whatever I want, I'm just not motivated to do anything in particular. I like the way SM64 opened up much more. And the whole spraying water thing is just stupid to me; always was.

Well, I haven't looked at it since I took it back to EB. It never interested me, and I am a Mario fan. I won't get into my rant like I posted long ago, but after an hour of playing nothing in this game made me want to play it more. And with me if games don't get my interest within an hour, I'm probably not going to play it. Call me kooky, but that's how I am.

Agreed, while I do like alot of "non-linear" games like Morrowind, GTA, and others it just doesn't work for good 'ole Mario.

Mario games have always been enjoyable from their scripted events, and the welcoming nature of their simple addictive gameplay, strategy has always been there, but not in the drivers seat like Mario Sunshine.

At least the new Zelda game is looking like it will breath life back into the Nintendo name.

Leave the innovative, and open-ended nature games to the new guys, i've always enjoyed Nintendo for its lighthearted fun nature games. *sheds a tear*

Simplicity is a GOOD thing, especially for big N, leave the strategy to the wills of the gameplay Nintendo!
