I wish someone would link the 40 odd threads that probably exist discussing this topic, so that this thread may die, and nobody posts in the linked threads, thereby saving mine eyes from having to scan over this tripe on a continuing basis, even if it is only a rather minor annoyance.
That continues to be my wish.

The search isn't working for anyone right now; it appears to be down again.
I've never understood peoples fascination in predicting which company will bite the dust next. Why you would even want that to happen is beyond me. Competition is what keeps things fresh, exciting, and enables gamers to have such a wide variety of games to play.

the gizmondo is going no where....and no one is gonna take down microsoft or sony.
the only way either of those 2 are leaving is if the world just stops being intersted in games...

I'm not going to waste my time discussing that but this is turning into a witch hunt. He’s only been here for a month and you guys are busting his balls every day.

There’s no reason to treat him so badly, he’s just new and probably doesn’t have any "forum experience".

What a convenient way to start an argument. You want to offer your point, but you don't want to hear any counterpoints. Maybe you should start a webpage. Unfortunately, this is a forum, so I will put forth a counterpoint:
Look. I don't know if you've noticed in your "forum experience" here that Virtualboy is apparently lacking, but there are people who frequent these forums who are, in fact, gay. Also, there are alot of people who harbor a certain distaste - myself, for example - for using such terms in a negative connotation. That being the case, you just shouldn't use the term "gay" in a negative connotation here, end of story. Virtualboy did, and he got called on it, perhaps rather harshly, but what would you expect? Your "correct" version doesn't even include a reference to the fact - perhaps we should just ignore the fact that he used such terms, and go about our merry way? I don't think so, and I wouldn't expect most of the people here to either.
As for the "goddamn" comparison, I'm going to go ahead and pass that off as hair-splitting to root for the underdog, or perhaps he's just your friend. Taking the name of certain folks' favorite invisible man in vain, and ignorantly associating the very essence of some peoples lifestyle in a way that's incredibly negative, and offensive, are two very different things. We all like to root for the underdog, and stick up for our own - but this guy fucked up, and he got called on it. I mean I'm guessing he didn't do it out of hatred of homosexuals or whatever, it just comes off to me as ignorance, so hopefully he's learned to choose his words a little more carefully from now on.

I wasn't gonna butt in here, but...
1. Obviously, this thread needs locked.
2. VirtualBoy wasn't trying to offend anyone by using the word "gay" in a "negative" way. But I have to contest that this word cannot be "banned" from use around here because it might offend someone, when "goddamn" can, because I, for one, am a Christian and I'm sure that there are others around here that would be offended by it. (I know, that was kindof run-on :P)
So to some that second point up, "gay" should be allowed if "goddamn" is allowed.

Bingo, I know for a fact that a huge number of kids use the word "gay"all the time. If you're offended, "take it with a grain of salt" and forget about it.

DP prefers it's members to be a little more mature. If you love the word so much, there's plenty of people over at Gamefaqs that feel the same way you do.

If "goddamn" is used in a movie, that pretty much guarrantees at least a PG-13 rating. If "gay" is used, it might be up to PG.
