Anyone here practice lent? I gave up videogames this year. It's been pretty rough. I've got a pile of retro games waiting on me when easter rolls around and much gaming fun will be had by me. Oh but yes :D I'm glad I did though. Makes me realize I don't need them so much in my life to be happy. Boredom though eats away at me since I work 2nd shift when I get in lol. Hurry up easter... LOL

Tch the only thing I promised to do fpr lent is go to confession and I still didn't do that yet.

Bah I'm going to hell.

That's a pretty devout sacrifice. I'd never last a week if I gave up all forms of video gaming. Probably go through withdrawl and end up in treatment someone.

Can you still go out thrifting and stuff or did you give up all things video game related?

No playing at all, but I have been thrifting. My fiancee is amassing coffee and sweets for when she comes off lent. She gave up sugar :D

Not to strike up a debate, but uh, doesn't that defeat the purpose of lent? If you just shift when you do it and gourge yourself after lent, you're not exactly fasting.

Anyways, I gave up giving up stuff for lent for lent.

Lol you saying my woman's gonna pig out? It was a joke :-P . Anways with the thrifting I like collecting too. I gave up playing, because its something I love to do. Thrifting is just something I do to look for deals. I buy VHS horror movies too. I do understand what you mean though. I take the time in which I do Lent for reflection mostly. Noticing how videogames affect my life is both thought provoking and a little scary. LOL I gave up meat last year and became a vegetarian. I do cheat occasionally though with chicken. I hate labels. I know the same won't be true with videogames though so thats why I thrift.

Like this weeks gem

TERROR VISION for 4$ COMPLETLY MINT WOOOT!!!!!
Horror buffs will be able to appreciate this find. :D

Rock on.

I got tired of having to do it, so I stopped giving up stuff. Mostly because there's so much I've stopped doing in relation to my belief system, but also because I use the time differently than just giving up my favorite food.

Know exactly what you mean brother. WHen it becomes a chore for me im gonna stop too. Always follow your heart in your actions. If your hearts not in it and your doing it for tradition sake your just being fake. It's the reason I don't go to church that much anymore. Too many personal politics.
