Which do you prefer/are currently playing? After playing both I have to say that I like MLB just slightly better. The AI fielding may not be as solid as MVP's, but it's something that can be corrected by manual controll most of the time.

I also like the pitching and throwing a whole lot better in MLB, as I'm not a big fan of precision timed Madden kicking sliders. It's good for the pitching, but gets a little annoying for fielding, especially when you're trying to be quick.

The only thing that I really dislike about MLB so far is the Slam Zone hitting, it seems silly and confusing to me, and not terribly usefull. And I also don't like how the camera sometimes switched to foul position, even when there isn't a foul, it's incredibly hard to catch a deep pop fly when your fixed at home plate.

Other than that it's a great game, with just a slight edge on MVP because of it's simpler,(but not dummed down), controlls.

Currently playing it on Xbox

I have to say I love both, but have to give the edge to MVP.

MLB is really good, and the commentary is the best I've ever heard in a sports game. The K-zone pitching is just ok, it seems too accurate so I switched to meter. Also, you can turn Slamzone off, which about everyone does, it's just too arcadey. The stadiums are great, and the uniforms look awesome. The main problem I have with it is the lack of variety. You tend to see the same types of hits all the time, where in MVP you see new plays and animations nearly every game. Also the players seem to have almost no momentum and can turn on a dime, they feel like they have no weight to them, making fieldiing feel less realistic. And there's only one fielding camera.

Check out the forums on operationsports.com for more info on both games, they have great gameplay sliders that really make both games play a more realistic game of ball.
