Playing PAL MM: Wily Wars on US Genesis... help!

Hey guys,
I recently traded for a copy of Mega Man: Wily Wars UK PAL Mega Drive.
Well, I finally found time to try and give it a shot on my US Genesis, and no luck - territory lock kicks in every time. I *thought* that I would be able to get it to work with a Game Genie, as I thought I remembered reading that it could bypass the territory locks.

However, all the game genie codes I've found apparently only work on the Japanese version. I've tried searching around DP for info but no luck. Anyone have any idea how to get this to play on a regular US Genesis with a Game Genie? Or do I have to fork out for a Mega Key or something?
(Really don't want to do that.)

GameGenie needs a code in order to access it, which I believe you can find on gamefaqs.com under Genesis Hardware FAQ

Yeah, I checked that, but the only codes are for the Japanese, not UK PAL, version of the game. I tried all 3 and they don't work.

I dont get sound on this game eventho I have a Megadrive (1601 model)

Oh. hehe.
Chalk it up to my inexperience with the Game Genie.
I was putting in those 3 lines of code one at a time instead of all 3 at once.
