Would an N64 av cable work with an SNES?

Sorry if this is a dumb question

Yes it will.

The SNES, N64 and GameCube all use the same AV cable.

Same for the RF adapter.

Yes, it will work. The SNES, N64 and Gamecube all use the same cable.

And no, it's not a dumb question.

EDIT: And dreamcaster beat me by a minute.

I use one for all three consoles. I just swap it around as needed. In fact, I don't think I even have as many Nintendo A/V cables as consoles... o_O Don't quite know how that happened.

Yeah, while you can use the exact same composite A/V cables with all Nintendo systems that have that connector, certain ones don't support component video output. But I think they can all do s-video. I might be wrong ("might be" = "probably am"), but I think the N64 has no component output, and yet the SNES does. Or maybe SNES just does plain RGB. Something like that. Heh. If you're only going to use composite, then just ignore me. ;-)

Indeed it will.

Yes, SNES does RGB and so will a modded N64.

You can buy one of those cheap ass PS2/GC/Xbox multi-console S-video cables and use it to have S-video on SNES, N64 and Playstation.

The small SNES does not have S-video without modification.
None of the Nintendo systems have component video out of the standard output. If you mean RG B, then I have no idea.

I have a RF adaptor for the Gamecube/64, and I am wondering if it will work with a SNES, even though the SNES has a dedicated RF port.

Yeah, I was surprised how crappy the snes mini was. Tried plugging in my model 2 to my gamecube psyclone svideo cable and no go. Did the original model and it came up nice and clear. Man that model 2 is such crap, hehe.

SNES can use components? or just S-Video?

I have a RF adaptor for the Gamecube/64, and I am wondering if it will work with a SNES, even though the SNES has a dedicated RF port.

The SNES has the same multi-out port for plugging an N64/GCN RF modulator, however it won't physically fit into the port (the modulator is too bulky and won't fully insert). This is the case for the PAL SNES/Super Famicom. The US SNES might be able to accomodate it - I don't know.

However, you can always just disconnect the RF modulator and plug the N64/GCN RF straight into the SNES's RF output slot.
