I was wondering if Rockman & Forte for Super Famicom is the same game as Mega Man & Bass for GBA?

Yes, it is the first official English translation of Rockman and Forte, although a translated rom for the SNES has been around for years. The only real difference is that the viewable area has been cropped since the GBA resolution is smaller. Bass' dash move is also executed with a double tap of the directional pad instead of a button press since the L/R buttons are reserved for switching weapons. Why Capcom didn't go with the superior Megaman Zero scheme is anyone's guess.

Just cut out the two tabs in the cartridge slot of the SNES. Trust me, it's a snap.

Dont know how it is on an american SNES, but I have a PAL system. A SFC cartridge fits fine because they are just like like european SNES cartridges, but you can play them. They simply wont start.

Get a US or JPN snes/sfc then - this game is worth playing and MUCH more worth it on the Snes instead of the GBA. Other than the control change, the viewable area change, the Snes/SFC version's music is FAR superior, they had to chop the tracks down a bit for the portable version. Excellent game, and a real challenge.

Much easier and cheaper to get an adapter instead of having 3 diffrent SNES ;)
Which I will buy soon. Gonna be nice to play some SFC games :)

I was not aware of an adaptor that allows NTSC sfc/snes games to be played on a pal system...? If there is, then it's worth it - sfc/snes is one of the best systems that ever was...

Convertors were all the rage back then because lots of games took their time being released in Europe, or never appeared at all. Didn't affect me as I bought a US SNES deliberately to get around these issues and imported. But as tech on the carts improved, older convertors stopped working and newer ones had to be made. Think of it in the same sense as mod chips for example.

Best bet for a convertor to use on a PAL SNES would be Datel's Passport 3. About the only thing it can't play afaik is Super Mario RPG (that's because NO PAL machine can play it properly due to timing issues, even ones that have been modded to allow 60Hz).

That reminds me, if I ever get my hands on a PAL Terranigma, would that screw up on a US SNES machine also?

Man, I still gotta pick this one up. I loved the GBA version, but the improved music alone is enough for me to track down the SFC version.

There's a complete SFC Rockman & Forte on ebay for grabs now in BIN. It's from Japan though. $57 with EMS shipping or $49 in Airmal with a waiting time of 1 week.

Ah just seeing the picture of that copy reminds me of how excited I was when I opened that Priority Mail box and pulled the game out of it.

Buy a Game Genie and cut the tabs off of it so you don't have to mangle your SNES.
