I am looking to get a Japanese Dreamcast.

Can you guys recommend some good Import Games that are non-japanese
reading friendly???

I love Shmups so they are high on my list

Any help would be appreciated and if anyone has any let me know
Jeff

Border Down is great, typical sort of Taito horizontal shmup. It has been getting more and more expensive of late though. Shikigami no Shiro 2 is also great on the DC as too is Ikaruga (dah).
:D

Mark of the Wolves and The last blade 2 are pretty good, as too is Bangai-oh.

Chaos Field is a bit crap, but if you REALLY love your shmups then grab it anyway. I have got both the DC and GC versions and the GC version is a tad bit better due to extra features.

if you love shmups and own a dc, then you can't miss border down.

I recommend Cosmic Smash and Tokyo Bus Guide.

TBG that's a niche title for sure, good stuff there even if it's slow paced.

I say Death Crimson 2... oh wait, you said good. :D

Bakuretumuteki Bangaioh

Cleopatra Fortune
Gigawing & Gigawing 2

Aww, I wanted to make that joke. ;) Honestly, though, when I finally get into Dreamcast importing, that'll probably be the first game I get. Even if it's impossible to play for me, I still gotta have the sequel to Getter Love. o_o And assuming they aren't impossible to unlock, the little mini-games look pretty fun. There's a puzzle one that looks cool.

Cosmic Smash is great. Not exactly a shooter, but you gotta get it just because there isn't anything else like it in the world.

Imagine Rez crossed with Breakout and you are somewhere close. I am currently trying to negotiate for a copy of this one myself. Hopefully I will be able to get it for about $40 - $50, which would be an absolute steal!

:wink 2: Arcade Perfect Ferrari F355 Challenge ... It doesn't get any better! Actually not a game; this is a serious simulator .. Plus you can use the Link Cable option, which was actually removed from the US Version!

Tokyo Bus Guide was great....but the slow pace of the game might make you want to grab a gun....so it COULD end up being a schmup.

:yipes: Developed by *AM2* Sega Rally 2 is one of the best. The menus are all in english, making it quite accessable -- Another graphical winner as well; oh, did I mention F355?

Then try a middle man deputy service. If you really need a game and YJ is the only place... I extensively use deputy services for loads of stuff. Fees can be a pain, but it's an utter gold mine on YJ.

I recommend Cosmic Smash and Tokyo Bus Guide.

there's DP edition that came with a bonus disc featuring pretty(?) bus guide... :D

and Typing of Date is strictly for Japanese speaking... it's often listed on YJ from time to time and doesn't cost much

Thank you Play-Asia. I sold my regular copy for some stupid reason, but I still have this. :)
