Parappa the Rapper's memorable cast and even more memorable CD-quality music revived the Simon style of gameplay in a way that took a unique mind to imagine. The sequel, Um Jammer Lammy, expanded the cast and changed the genre to make a bigger and better game. And finally, yet another completely original idea arrived in the form of the vector graphics Laugh & Peace acid trip Vib Ribbon.
Tell us which Playstation classic is your favorite, and why.

Vib Ribbon, because out of the three, it's the only one I played :P I'd like to check the other out though, heard good things about them.

VIB RIBBON!

I've played both Parappa and Lammy; while both were fun games, neither ever reached the status of addiction with me like Vib Ribbon did. Even now, I can never turn down a chance to play. Vibri owns my heart!

Prappa.

Lammy was a better game and I haven't played Vib Ribbon, but Parappa was the reason I wanted a Playstation and I still love the music and Rodney Goldblatt's (or however it's spelled) character designs in the game best of all.

I voted Lammy. Parappa got me hooked when it was brand new, but it was all over for me when Lammy was released. I was obsessed. The tighter timing along with the rock and rap versions of each stage sealed the deal for me. Vib Ribbon is a close second. I'll give Vib Ribbon the nod for having the best music out of the 3.

Another tough one, three games I really enjoy.

I'm going to go with Parappa because it's the only one I'm actually any good at. I end up cursing up a storm trying to play Vib Ribbon beyond the first four songs or with a custom track. Um Jammer was a nice update to Parappa but I liked the music in Parappa better. I had a hard time with some of the Lammy stages too.

Kick, punch, it's all in the mind ...

My wife and I played PaRappa for like a month straight when it came out. I like Lammy too, but how can you top the original?

Crack crack crack the egg into the bowl!

I haven't played Lammy but that doesn't make it any easier, can't make up my mind on the other two.

I spent so much time with 'rappa when it came out but if I had to pick one now I'd go with Vib. Using your own CDs just gives it more longevity.

I'm going for Parappa for this one, as all of those melodies are still jammed in my brain. Although I like Lammy a lot too, I just find that Parappa was among the first games of its type and the concept was incredibly innovative back then. The genre was more accepted when Lammy came out, so it did not seem as innovative... but between Parappa and Lammy, it's close. I went with the original in the end.

... and... I never even heard of Vib Ribbon until now. :embarrassed:

I've played em all, however UmJammer has that kick ass metal song (when your on the airplane level). Hands down winner in my book. Vib Does kick ass with its simplicity and sheer difficulty too.
