Just curious.

There is a very slight chance that I'll be exhibiting again for them with my CGE partners (though it's going to take a lot of incentive for me to do that again), I'm hoping to go and simply enjoy the expo itself like the old days.

If you're going post here - it would be great to meet and hook up, maybe even have a DP designated meeting spot on the floor.

Should I get a pass, I'll most likely be there. However, I'm hearing it's a little more difficult for indy game shops to get passes this year so we'll see.

I haven't been since E3 was in Atlanta so I'm hoping it works out and I get to go.

Hey, Joe! I'll be there, and I'd love to hang with you outside of CGE, where we only get to talk for five to ten seconds at a time. :) I'll email you my contact info if you'd like. Thanks!

Get a job in the videogame industry - reviewing games; designing games; selling games; distributing games; importing games; writing about games; etc. Anything else? You're SOOL.

I'm going. Got a gig doing web development for a game site. This'll be my first time going. May have to get someone here to show me around.

Not this year. Haven't actually been since 2000. Was a good time, but it gets more and more circus-like every year. :) I'll be back again sometime.

Looks like a pretty good core of folks so far. They haven't chimed in but I know that members sisko, dreams, Portnoyd and Achika will be there as well. We definitely need to arrange a get-together, even if it's "after show".

If only I would have stuck it out a little while longer with Gameloft...but then I guess I'd be dead so I would miss the show anyway. I really wanted to go this year too...just with all the new console announcements and stuff...I'll probably never get the chance though :(

Just saw this thread, and yes, we'll both be there. :) First time for both of us.

That technically doesn't count as grounds for admittance, but I'm sure you can get around it. EDIT: Nevermind, you just can't register as Media.

I just sent in my Media credentials today, should have my pass in a week or 3 ;)

i do a lot of articles for a self published underground video game magazine here in tijuana, does that count to get me in?

I would like to go, and see XBOX Next. I used to fake my way into e3's. But it seems like it's much, much harder to do that.

I've been to 3 e3's, and they were all amazing. But the last one that I went to was in 2000, the launch of the PS2.

So I've missed quite a few since then.

If anybody can hook me up with credentials, get a extra pass for a additional "employee" so to speak. If anybody can hook me up, and make a dream happen, hit me up with a PM.

Thanks.

Only if the mag you write for is incorporated as a legitimate business. If not, then no.

I do get money from local companies to keep the costs nearly free (it would be 50 cents for you us people). But i don't think that counts.

Dude, just register. It takes ten minutes. Then you'll find out for sure.

For those of you who that have gone before, does it really take three days to go through the entire expo? Are there typically incentives to go the last day?

I'm debating whether or not to make arrangemnts to go to either Chinatown or Universal Studios the last day since I can't see the expo taking up three whole days, but if it really does....

Hehe, LUE of Gamefaqs has a team of people making a videogame so they can get into E3. I was gonna be a sprite desiner, but the I realized that 1) I've never made sprites before. 2) I don't know if they'd be allowed in anyway. 3) I'm only 16! I don't think my parents would be willing to go out even if I was allowed in v_v

Oh well. Maybe in 2 more years.

It depends on how much you want to PLAY.

You can easily spend three days if you pace your trip slowly and deliberately, but by the same token you could do that in two days or even one day. If all I cared about was GameCube, for example, one day easy.

The only real incentive for being there every day is that different booths will have different events and special guests on different days. So you might miss a porn star or a wrestler or one of the former American Idol finalists if you miss a day. Something tells me that you'd rather do Universal Studios :)

I'm in Sony's Gamer Advisory Panel and they're doing a contest where 5 lucky winners win an all expense payed trip there for all 3 days, plus be able to go to Sony's afterparty.

I'm going to enter, but I have to come up with a cool entry (can be anything, like a PowerPoint slideshow, videotape of yourself, poem/essay, etc. on why you should get picked).

My friend has a pass (she got it for being a sony booth babe at a game launch), but she's not sure if she'll be well enough to go. Obviously chances are she'd go anyway, as who'd want to miss E3 if they could?

Chances are against me going, but if she does I'll tell her to keep an eye out for some ya.

I'm definitely going. This looks like the year to go, too.

Joe's right - if you think you might qualify, register on the website and see what they say. I got an email back in under an hour and a confirmation 2 days after I faxed my credentials (as a Blockbuster manager). You do have to be 18 or older for whoever asked.

This year I see three days not being nearly enough time. It was just about right last year with the two handhelds. There's still a big lot of stuff to see and you'll really never run out of much to do. I personally spent way too much time running around collecting schwag to play enough games. I played all the way through a whopping two demos the entire time I was there, it's really overwhelming.

If anything it'll take three days simply because of the distance between all the halls.

While I don't expect to go to E3 itself, if there's some sort of after hours get-together, I could see what I could do to go. I live 30 min. from the LA Convention Center, and a quick drive (for LA) to a hotel or restaraunt would be doable.

Why not stay til Sunday? Achi and I are doing that most likely, and we intend to hit up a few places like Little Tokyo then.

Little Tokyo rules. Specially the book stores on 1st. street. Chinatown's good for food and herbs (legal herbs) but thier 'stuff' is.. well, let's just say I see a LOT of Famiclones in the stores. :/

Because the hotel is $130 a night, and 4/5 nights there is a lot of money X_x

Unless, you know of a cheaper place to stay :D

Rent a van and sleep in it somewhere near the convention center.
