Name this game

Okay, here's a good challenge. A PC game came out a few years back that was called King of Fighters 90, IIRC. It was a fan-created fighting game that included a whole host of odd-ball characters. It included a couple of Street Fighter guys, some Mortal Kombat guys, a wrestler and some others I can't seem to remember. When I last played the game it wasn't complete and none of the special moves had been implimented. Now for the questions.

What was the real name of this game? I know it was KoF but I may be wrong about the year.

Where can I find it?

hmm. I'd be curious to see the results of this. I doubt it'd be anything like the KoF's I've grown to worship but still, it sounds fun.

Sounds like MUGEN. MUGEN is a build-your-own-2D-fighter type game made by Elecbyte. It has many fansites in many foreign countries, like this one:

it actually was a fighting engine, much like the mugen engine, but this one actually never took off. I have a cd with chars and some stuff over somewhere. I remember the chars were a lot easier to do than in mugen, but there weren't that much functions/features.

Right, it looks like Mugen, but it was something different. It was King of Fighters something, I don't remember the year. I forgot about the game, but if it was worth its weight it would have taken off. Seeing that it didn't really doesn't surprise. I was just interested in knowing how far it did go and if there was a site where I could download it.

As for Mugen, it looks pretty cool. How does it play and is it worth downloading? Thanks.
