AES - home system. more expensive

MVS - arcade, less expensive

best option would probably be to get a consolized MVS system if you just want to play games. save you thousands in the long run

Well, if it's not a consolized MVS, it will be about six feet tall, weigh 300 lbs, and be red and black. Should be pretty easy to spot.

You can take an MVS board out of a cabinet without actually turning it into a consolized MVS. :P

But still, it's easy to tell the difference, since if someone is selling a consolized MVS they'll tell you it's been consolized. Otherwise it's just a bare MVS board. Also, if you know what an MVS board looks like, you can tell if stuff has been added to it.

Go here: http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/

And read and search before posting. Lots of excellent info there, from those who know. The Neo lovers here, often post there as well.

The forum is a bit oif a wild wild west, but the info is there.

the convertor is called the Phantom1, there are a few different versions. It will work for most MVS games and goes for around $200.
