Musashi as in Brave Fencer?

EDIT

Alright, I went and looked at the trailer, it looks real nice. I might pick this up.

Does the game contain action figure collecting like the first one?

I dunno, but I loved the first one (couldn't beat it though... super hard at the end dungeon). I played the demo for this last May and I was pleased. I don't think it's gonna be worth $50 though. It'll be a good pickup at $30 later down the line though.

If it does contain collecting someone tell me. That was my absolute favorite feature of the game and would warrant a 50 dollar purchase from me.

I noticed the oversized promo box for this at work a week ago. mostly taken in by the graphics and the sytle of the hero, especially his hair.

I picked this one up yesterday. Needless to say, my expectations were very high, seeing as the original musashi is easily one of my ten favorite games ever.

I played it for about 2 1/2 hours, and so far I'm very dissapointed. :( It's lacking everything that made the original such a classic. The unique and lovable characters, the awesome music, and the amazing boss fights (who could forget Topo's groove heaven?) are completely missing. The graphics are nice, but that's really the only standout thing...The characters are all bland in personality, the combat is slow and clunky, and the boss fights are just boring and repetetive. I'm not that far into it, but I'm hoping it will get better.

Sometimes I'm stunned by the timing of threads in this joint. *Months* ago a friend of a friend went to Japan. I said "buy me a PS game, anything!" I *finally* get the game today and what is it? The original Musashiden (which I hadn't heard of until noon today). Not four hours later there's a thread about another game - *unbelievable*!!!

(To answer the question - uh, no. I think I'd like to pop this one into my console at home first to see what it's like before I buy any sequel :) ).

I think it's one of the best action games on the PS and it contains one of the best collecting features as well.

I really didn't like the first game. Maybe it was because the first time I played it was a couple months ago, and this game did not age well IMO. To me the gameplay felt too unrefined and boring. I wanted to like it but it just didn't feel right. Maybe I'll try the new one but I'm not sure yet.

meh oh well at least you can collect SOMETHING. I'm still pretty dissapointed though. We need more games with collectable action figures. Metal Gear Solid would be such an awesome game for figure collecting!

just as i suspected, the first one was friggin great. i beat it twice :D . i was afriad that it would be a bland sequal which is unfortunate for such a colorful game original.
