we were watching a power point that was projected onto a wall, this seemed very normal as this happens atleast 1-2 times a day in any of my classes, but when i looked closer at the projecter i noticed the company that made it was NEC, any one know if this is the same NEC that made the turbo grafx systems way back in the day?

Yep. Same NEC that made my handheld PC too. Their main line of business is monitors and display systems.

Yup...my PC monitor is an NEC...and that's EXACTLY why I chose it :)

I haven't seen too many nec pc's lately (i remember them from early 90's), but I still see quite a bit of monitors.

I also have a NEC monitor. It is a 17" flat-panel LCD. It is a really good product!
EDIT: In case you were wondering, I definitely do not work in NEC's advertising department.
