I thought about picking up Backyard Baseball 2006, but I'm afraid it will be too easy. Any thoughts?

I did some looking into baseball games for the GBA months ago and there really *isn't* any selection. I think Sega's offering is the way to go (Baseball Advance is it's title I think).

I'm hoping the DS has a few more baseball titles released for it!

I'm really into baseball games lately (RBI Baseball 3 on NES and a few others), so I'll try Baseball Advance for GBA, but can anyone recommend a great one for DS?

I played my bro. in backyard football a few christmas' ago. Ps2 I believe. I hated that game. I threw a controller and quit. No way in hell the kid in the wheelchair could be tackled. I think the Bengals should sign that kid at running back. Maybe use a second round pick on him......

Anyhow, My advice would be to plug the classic Baseball (GB) into your GBA. That game kicked major ass back in the day IMHO. Can't think of a good GBA Baseball game. What about Crushed Baseball? I've never played it. Just remember the box art.

On a related note, any good baseball games for the original Gameboy or Gameboy Color that I might have missed?

If Game Gear has one advantage over Gameboy, it has always been better baseball games. At least based on what I've played on both of those portables (about a dozen different ones across the 2 platforms).

Another vote for Baseball Advance. Just buy it. Buy it buy it buy it. It's my second-favorite baseball title of all time, after Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball on the SNES, whose gameplay it sort of resembles.

I'd look into the Pawapuro Kun Pocket series if you want baseball on the GBA.

I actually haven't played any of the GBA incarnations, but they're supposed to be quite good and I have played and loved the DS, N64 and Dreamcast releases. It's also available on just about every other system since the Super Famicom and I reckon they're all probably pretty good. And now it's finally coming to North America as MLB Power Pros on the PS2 and Wii sometime this month.

Undoubtedly the best baseball game series ever.
