I know there's alot of metal heads here, so I figure this is a good place to ask. I have a collection of about 500 or so heavy metal CD's from the 80's - 90's that I may need to sell, but if I sell them I want them to go to a good home. I have pretty much everything from A - Z and in most cases every album by every band. Way too much to list here right now, but if anyone is seriously interested I can compile a detailed list, though that will take time. So is this something that anyone here would be interested in buying? I don't really want to part it out, I'd much rather sell it all as a complete collection.

I probably have too many CDs to warrant buying a whole bundle, but if you do make a list, I'd be interested in seeing it. Even a list of bands might be a good start.

How much shipped for the entire lot? Also are they scratch free? My cd changer is picky.

I'd be interested in a large lot as well, but not the whole thing. Stuff like Danzig, Savatage, ManoWar, Iron Maiden, etc...

Well here's the deal, I really don't want to sell any of it, because I only need a couple hundred bucks, but I can't think of anything else that I'm willing to part with! Nobody has bought my MegaDrive Encyclopedia yet, and I dunno if I can get enough out of that and the two hard drives that I'm trying to sell right now to cover what I need or close enough to it that I can scrape up the rest. I'd much rather just sell CDR's of whatever everybody wanted, but obviously that sort of thing is of questionable ethics and not worth very much anyway. So I was just wondering if there's a market for what I have. I was thinking about maybe putting it all up on ebay, but I don't really know how much I should ask for it if I sold it all, or if anyone could even afford it.

I'll try to get a list made, at least of all the bands that I have, so everyone can see. It's mostly all thrash, but there's alot of classic and alternative in there too. And of course I have a little bit of all the subgenres, but very little death and no noise. I never did like noise, and it has to be really good death for me to be able to get into it. I don't think that I have anything newer than 2000, but I have a few things dating back as far as the 60's, so there's a little bit of 70's stuff in there too, but it's mostly all 80's & 90's. Real hard to turn loose of any of this old stuff, it's what I collected in my teen years before I got hardcore into collecting videogames, so there's a ton of great memories and sentimental value in all this stuff. I know I could rip 'em all and keep the MP3's of everything I have, but I doubt that I have enough space for that on my hard drive, and I know I don't have enough CDR's for that.

So I'm kinda torn about it, really. I never listen to it all anymore, but that's mostly only because my stereo is still packed up in boxes from when I moved because I don't really have any place to put it. But there's no scratches on any of the discs except a couple of Metallic discs that I made the mistake of loaning to someone and almost never even got them back, much less all scratched up. That really pissed me off. I take as much care of my music as I do of my games. So all my music was bought brand new way back in the day. So I have alot of really obscure stuff too, all of which is really good, because whenever I took a chance on an unknown band like that, I took it back and traded it in for something else if they sucked. I like it all anyway.

I have at least one rare picture disc that I know of too, but I'm not sure how rare it is. Rare enough that I doubt I could ever replace it in the same condition. If any of you guys are familiar with Sacred Reich, I have their first album with a picture of their mascot on the disc. That was later changed to just a standard disc with no picture. If you're familiar with Exodus, I also have their first album with the original artwork on the cover. That cover was later changed to something completely different that was nowhere near as cool. So I have alot of stuff like that too, some of which is impossible to find now, even used, which is another reason why I'm reluctant to sell it. But I only have a month to come up with the money I need, so I gotta come up with something fast. I don't know of anyone who can loan me the money I need, and I dunno how much a pawn shop would loan me for all of my music, if they'd even let me take in that much music at one time. So I'm assuming it's real hard to get much of any amount of money out of music anymore now.

Please... The man speaks 8 different languages and might have been a pro soccer (football) player if he didn't have a bum knee.

What, is it about the man that bothers you so?

It's mostly all thrash

Awesome. Do you have any old doom metal like pentagram or something too? anyways, If you do decide selling it or breaking it off into sub groups, please let me know.

Maybe he's only into Mercyful Fate and not the solo (if you can call it that) King Diamond stuff.

If you're familiar with Exodus

One of my favorites:

Toxic Waltz

Here's a new dance craze that's sweeping the nation
It's called the toxic waltz and it's causing devastation
You're jumping up and down like a psycho circus clown
Slamming with waltzers all the way around
You get caught up in the whip
You're thrown into a flip
You aim for someone's head
To stain the floor red
Give someone a kick
To prove you're truly sick
Bounce back from some blows
And blood runs out your nose

Flailing round and round
And you're injury bound
Waltz it up!
The pit is it!
You can take your chance
On this rough new dance
If you dare!
To dive in!
There are some that try
But they won't survive
They don't hit!
'Cause they're wimps!
And this exercise
Helps you brutalize
With us!
Exodus!

Everybody's doin' the toxic waltz
Kick your friend in the head and have a ball
Come on and do the toxic waltz
And slam your partner against the wall
Everybody's doin' the toxic waltz
Good friendly violent fun in store for all
Get up off your ass and toxic waltz
If you hit the floor you can always crawl!

Used to do the monkey, but now it's not cool
The twist and mash potato are no exception to the rule
So don't be a dunce and dance like a runt
Just throw your elbows with good friendly violent fun
Don't start to cry
If you get a black eye
Just dive back in
And give another try
But too much action
May leave you in traction
So you better get insurance
No matter your endurance!

Flailing round and round
And you're injury bound
Waltz it up!
The pit is it!
You can take your chance
On this rough new dance
If you dare!
To dive in!
There are some that try
But they won't survive
They don't hit!
'Cause they're wimps!
And this exercise
Helps you brutalize
With us!
Exodus!

Everybody's doin' the toxic waltz
Kick your friend in the head and have a ball
Come on and do the toxic waltz
And slam your partner against the wall
Everybody's doin' the toxic waltz
Good friendly violent fun in store for all
Get up off your ass and toxic waltz
If you hit the floor you can always crawl!

Get up on your feet
Don't look so obsolete
And thrash like an athlete!
Don't sit there on your ass
Don't look like you've got too much class
You'll be harassed!
You know we guarantee
This is the key
So rage or get the third degree!
You begin frontal assaults
And start your somersaults
And do the toxic waltz!
Do the toxic waltz!
Do the toxic waltz!
Do the toxic waltz!
Do the toxic waltz!

I know what CD's I'm digging out tonight!

Exodus
Over Kill
King Diamond
Death Angel

hmmm who else?

3 quick notes.

#1, the first rule of the B&S forum is "no bootlegs, no CD-R's". So I know you wouldn't really try and sell copies of music cd's here.

#2, is there anything for sale or not? If not, I need to move this post elsewhere. No one is going to promise any money until there's a list of albums up.

#3, you're right, there's little to no market for used CD's unfortunately. Trust me, I've tried. Pawn shops around here will give you a buck a disc for ones in good condition.

Well, good news for me, but bad news for those who were interested in my music collection: I managed to come up with all the money that I needed by selling off a bunch of beat up old Hot Wheels from my childhood collection. So I don't have to sell any of my music yet, or any of my mint condition Hot Wheels, thank God. But I will keep all of you in mind if I ever do have to sell off all my music. At least now I know that there's alot of interest in it, so I guess I could just part it out here if I ever need to. I don't have all of the bands that you all mentioned, but I have most of them. Sorry, but no King Diamond or Mercyful Fate. I don't have anything against him though. So he's a Satanist, big deal, I'm a Christian, big deal, we all have our own religions.
