I just got a Game gear for only $2 and I want to refurbish it and resell it, the sound won't work which seems to be a common problem with them. I want to learn how to repair systems better, and would like to know what always goes out on these and a detailed explanation of how to repair it. This would make a good addition to the base too.

Thanks in advance.

Doug

That worked, Thanks. Looks pretty easy to fix too, I have all the equipment and I can get the capaciter from Radio Shack.

No problem.

I've done it a lot and it is pretty simple.

Oh and it's not mentioned in that FAQ but sometimes you have to replace more than one cap. Especially if the sound isn't working in the headphones . I think it's the C5 you sometimes have to replace.

Where do you get those caps from? I don't want to order 10 of them from farnell of uk to get the job done.

I had a bunch of caps left over from my younger days.

In the U.S. I guess Radio Shack would do just fine. But I don't know in the U.K. where you might go.

I'm in the US, and the shack don't have them anymore. I don't want to order them from the uk, do you know of any websites or the like stateside that would carry them?
