If I missed an earlier thread, I apologize. But I stumbled across these on eBay today:
http://tinypic.com/29dd2o

Plug your GBA into it, and plug your NES games into the Time Machine. Presto - instant Portable NES. Runs on 4 AA batteries, and can plug into the TV set for big screen goodness. Gotta admit, for $50-$60, this seems like a good toy to have. Anyone bought one/have experience with them? They're all over eBay right now, and Lik Sang sells 'em too. And, yes, they're U.S. compatable.

Dagnabbit. Thanks for the assist Drex.

I have to admit, I'm tempted. Awkward or not, it'd be nice to test newly-found NES games at flea markets and to play NES games on the GBA not yet available on flashcards or emu. And, for $50, it's a cheap way of beginning NES collecting without investing in yet another system hooked up to my already overtasked TV (PS2, Genesis, Colecovision, DVD/VCR, etc already stacked up like cordwood around it).

Feel free to lock up this thread due to Sniderman repetition.

Don't bother with the GBA Time Machine, get a PocketFami. It looks better, works better and you can hold it without breaking your fingers.

And you can play NES Games without problems:

Yikes! The NES cart looks like it is barely attatched to that PocketFami. Don't you get worried about gravity pulling the cart out of that thing if you hold the system in any sort of horizontal position?

and apparently look like a total freak while doing it! OUCH! @_@ If I had one of those I would have to take the game out of the plastic case LOL

Exactly what I would do. That looks dangerous playing a NES game in there. You should really open it up and just use the board itself.

Also, Pocket Fami's are horribly overpriced. I think they sell for $160! @_@

Does the pocket fami play both NES and famicom games? That's pretty sweet!

Still, pocketNES works well enough...

Dunno...to me the GBASP is painful to hold because it's so small. Usually my hands fall asleep after about an hour. I think a little extra bulk and weight on there would be a good thing.

I'm interested...but I'll let someone else get one first and give us the lo-down.

I have a time machine and the nes hookup is crap...but I just use famicom carts and it's actually not that bad on the hands. My girl uses it all the time, although the famicom tetris game SUCKS!!

The Pocket Famicoms also do TV Out and have ports for extra controllers. Like the Nomad but for NES. Now that is cool but I still want something like this for SFC/SNES.
