Watching the basketball tourney, I was curious which games allowed you to break the backboard. Didnt the original NBA JAM on SNES have it?

Oh yeah! I always loved it when the guy would come out and sweep it up and the mrph mrph mrph (or something like that) sound. You could break it way too much IMO.

That was my answer... It's actually the first game I remember allowing back board breaks, henceforth probably why it was the most impressive. With that screenshot though.... wow.... We have come a long way.

The SNES version let you do it--but I could only get it to break once per game if I remember correctly. I loved that code that let you slam dunk from anywhere on the court. Best (non-Konami) code ever.

Couldn't you break the glass/backboard in Arch Rivals as well?

You can break the backboard in the Genesis version of "NBA JAM" but it can only happen once per game and from my experience, usually in the 3rd or 4th quarter.

In the snes version, i remember just dunkin' it time after time, and once your on fire, it seemed to smash after 8 or 9 dunks. ;)
