Who all has beaten the game on Legendary mode? Me I am just an average gamer, when it comes to this game, and I am having a hard enough time beating the game on Normal mode. Hahah

i've finished it on legendary with a partner, not by myself. i remember some of the levels not being very hard and other that are rediculiously hard.

I'm stuck in the 1st level's hanger scene on Legendary, where wave after wave of grunts and elites keep coming in through that boarding tube...anyone have any tips on getting through that area?

I completed Legendary in about 18 hours. Your really have to make good use of your grenades and pistol whipping...

I finally beat the first hangar scene myself just s few days ago, having been stuck there far too long. That was all about plasma sticking grenades to Elites and using Plasma Pistols (charged shots) and Sub machines when the shields dropped. I'm having issues now with the second boarding room, which is pretty much just another one of the same rooms that I just had to deal with.

The battle rifle/plasma pistol combo is your best friend, as I understand it.

That's the hardest part of the whole game on legendary-every other trouble part you can find other ways around.

No, I haven't beaten it yet. I did beat the first on legendary, so I know the basic tricks to it, but damn, the AI on 2 is brutal on that level.

SO far I am still playing it, but I think that the best combo of weapsons for me at least is the double needle guns. They fire fast and reload fast as well. Then again I haven't experimented to much with the weapons.

Needler is kind of a dark horse in both Halo legendaries...it's really nice for taking out elites and brutes if you can sustain fire on them long enough without dying.

I beat Halo 2 on legendary using primarily the plasma pistol/battle rifle combo, and using dual needlers on the brutes. The hardest part i thought was on the first level in when the elites and grunts are coming out of the tube as mentioned above. The best strategy that i can come up with is get good at head shots.

The two hanger sequences in Halo 2 on Legendary mode are unbeleviable difficult. As was previously mentioned, use teh battle rifle/plasma pistol combo. It rocks against elites.

I know I drug this up from long ago, but I'm only just now playing through Halo 2 on legendary. Holy crap, it is really difficult. The enemy AI is ruthless. Sniper fire on some of the levels is withering, and virtually impossible to overcome.

Playing Halo 2 on legendary is like playing a completely different game. If you like Halo, and haven't tried this yet, I recommmend giving it a shot. the learning curve is kinda steep, but it sure is fun.

I usualy always play FPS games on the hardest difficulty, but only on PC. On consoles i think FPS sux. I must have keyboard + mouse :) So i would probly never make it on legendary mode in Halo 2 on xbox with a controller.

jaja, have you ever tried Halo 2 on xbox? I used to think fbs were dome best on computers as well. I was, and still am, a HUGE Rainbow Six Rogue Spear fan, and for the longest time I couldn't imagine playing a fps w/o the keyboard/mouse setup. But halo 2 proved to me that fps could be done very well on consoles. ok, that is all.

Wait, you always use teh most difficult setting? geez . . .

I've never tried it. I played through the first one and got part way through the second but I've never tried on Legendary.

Shouldn't this be in modern gaming?

nope, i have never done that, allthough i think i have played halo 2 for all of 5 minutes. Can't stand the game. sorry to say that i know there are tons and tons of halo fanboys out there buit i don't think the halo series is all that. As a matte rof fact i think it's one of the most overrated games of all time. There is nothing that is groundbreaking in it and some of the controlls are some of the worst i have ever seen.

Oh well my rant is over, just had to say it.

I've only tried Halo for about 30 min or so hehe. I've hardly played xbox at all. I have played through some FPS on consoles, Darkwatch and Black, both for PS2. The controllers wasnt that bad :)

Ye hehe, but there are exceptions :) Like Serious Sam 1 & 2, i bet those games are impossible to beat alone on the hardest difficulty. I think they are made for co-op mode, but it wouldnt suprise me if someone really did beat it alone on the hardest. Unreal Tournamet also, incredible hard. Altho i did almost beat UT 2005 on Godlike, only had 5 missions left or so, but i gave up.

This thread was started before DP switched the original gaming thread into "modern" and "classic."

Wow, now there's an informed opinion. After playing the game for 5 minutes, I guess you know what you're talking about.

I played it for a few hours (I own the game) I thought it was kinda fun. I thought the controls could have a fine tuning. I get kinda lost easily, but all in all, the game is pretty fun. Certainly not a favorite, but pretty fun.

I've beaten both games on legendary in Co-op of course, I could never have done it alone.

Oh...so you played for a whole hour? My bad...that changes everything. You DO know what you're talking about (as you said above).
