The shipping price might be right. Ive ordered from hong kong before and the shipping was $46 and the package was pretty light.
But this was with EMS. He sends with parcel post which is cheaper i think, so he might overcharge alittle.

Every one of those disks is a pirate (like much of what this seller puts up for sale). It's getting to the point where I purposely avoid FDS auctions when the currency listed is in Pounds.

I think it's overpriced, I've ordered stuff about the same size as this order from Hong Kong and the shipping was only £8 so I think he's ripping us off.

I was thinking this too, which is a real shame for so many great old games. Are you 100% sure about this and how can you tell? I was thinking of complaining to eBay about this guy, consumers shouldn't have to put up with bullshit like that.

In the case of FDS games, the disks only came in yellow and blue, with "NINTENDO" clearly imprinted into the plastic on the disk, below the place for the label.

For cartridges, it's a matter of knowing which companies (namely Konami and Namco) used custom carts, and knowing what a real Famicom label has on it (namely, a specific font and arrangement of the katakana text for Nintendo Family Computer somewhere on the front or rear labels) (tsr's site has a bit of a guide for this).

Finally, I've recently gotten my hands on a book by the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photogography that commemorates the Famicom's 20th Anniversary-and has images of every Famicom and Disk System game ever made (and is in both English and Japanese). This helps immensely if and when I'm unsure about the game I'm looking at (or its title). Now I just need a book that reviews all 1,252 games. :D

I asked him if the shipping price was correct and he said yes.
With EMS he charges £35! I seriously doubt it cost that much to send this. They dont weigh that much.

I need to get that book next. BTW, amazon japan has some used copies of the "Fami Complete" book for sale. Ordered one and is on the way. :-P

Also that auction is bull. There are a lot cheaper ways to get working, original/legit FDS disks in better condition. ;)

Could you post a link for TSR's site and what is the exact name of that book commemorating the Famicom?

Hey now, that SMB disk might be a legitimate Ointendo release!

Looked to me like 3 of those disks were legiit.

Some blue disks were odfficial and were used in Nintendo's High Scoring competition where people sent in theiir disks to NIntendor (actually< the disk iinfo). Also, There were indeed 5 official bllue games, one of them being Mario Golf. There were also 2 gold disks given away as prizes in a competition. Defiinitely the rarest FDS disks...I have no inoput on whether they are as sought after ass NWC carts. Allso, developers used white disks.

Here's a site with some pretty good details on the competition.:
