I've been trying to find some pictures of complete copy of this game (http://www.digitpress.com/DP/cmf/game.cmf?gameid=26785) as well as this game (http://www.digitpress.com/DP/cmf/game.cmf?gameid=26808) online but I haven't been able to find anything. I'd really like to see the differences between the back of the case as well as the disc (should any differences exist). Pictures of the anthology booklet would be nice, too. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know any differences in the artwork, besides the obvious.
The anthology booklet is maybe 1/3 the dimensions of the instruction booklet, kinda like Namco Museum 3's Tower of Druaga book. Each page has some cool artwork from one of the 8 games in the series, of course depicting every boss complete with handy labels.
My personal copy of this game simply states "Mega Man 8" on the spine. And it's not a Greatest Hits version.

I have this too, I bought it when it first came out. I remember calling the game store every day for a month straight asking about the game.
There's nothing particularly special about it. The anthology booklet is nice but whoever did it actually screwed up big time. I can't recall right now, as I don't have it with me, but I beleive that they swapped the bosses from MM5 with MM6 and vise versa in the booklet. An obvious mistake to any MM fan.
The only difference that I can recall is that the actual disk has a colored label rather than the black print only in later prints of the game. Also, it probably doesnt have the offer for the special megaman model in the back of the booklet - something I regret not ordering. *SLAP*
This is easily my favorite megaman game.

Isn't most of the booklet contained In-Game for the SEGA Saturn version? I've also seen a few Saturn version in Jewl-case with instruction manuals... are they any different?

Thanks for posting this. I bought the ANNIVERSARY EDITION in '98 or so, but never found the ANNIVERSARY COLLECTOR'S EDITION, which I would have preferred :(

Now that's what I call a thorough comparison.
I have the collector's edition, but I wasn't even trying to get it. I didn't care about collecting at the time, and I'm fairly sure I just picked the game up because I wanted to play it. Didn't even know for many years that there was a "non-collector's" edition.
The insert does indeed have an obvious switchup on the Mega Man 5 and 6 pages. If anything, I think that makes the booklet more valuable, but it's still just a flimsy little insert that probably won't impress anyone who paid extra money to get it over the non-collector's one.

That's what Game Rave is all about...soon to be the DP PSX section. =)

Dang, I wish I had my collection WITH me right now-
Aside from owning the anniv. collectors edition for PSone, I have the Japanese Sega Saturn version as well. the Jewel case is a custom made slightly thicker jewel case that I have only see used with Saturn games. Most of the art is the same, but I can't recall major differences in the packaging - it looked great however - Oh yeah, the cover art for the Saturn version has Megaman holding up his arm while standing in front of all the robot masters, which is a 'lit up version' of the art used for underneath the cd tray/holder in the US version.
Also, there are a bunch of extras that the saturn version has - the cameo appearance of Cutman & Woodman, IN GAME. Also there is a section of really cute artwork of 'baby' megaman and roll in cute poses here and there. I have tried to find this artwork online - to no avail. Someone will have to do some crazy work to get a screenshot collection going.
Once I have my room of doom up (which will be years, sigh) I'll be able to scan everything (as it's all in storage at the folks place currently) - but for now, I have to rely on my noggin for stuff like this....
