Hey, trip on this. I was playing around with my Saturn on my big widescreen TV, and I figured out that if you play vertical shooters that offer a "tate" mode in that mode, then it basically becomes a horizontal shooter in widescreen!
It's pretty freaking trippy. You really ought to try it if you have a Saturn and a Widescreen TV.
The only problem is the fact that the high score indicator and stuff like that is in the wrong position, and sometimes you can't tell where the boundries are.
But I absolutely love horizontal shooters, I prefer them over vertical ones, and being able to play vertical ones horizontally is pretty nifty little trick. It actually takes advantage of the widescreen and seems like it was made perfect for 16:9 screens.
