Has anyone had a malfunctioning Nomad AND successfully repaired it? My unit simply doesn't want to "boot up". The backlight comes on, and there are a few static crackles from the speaker, but it never gets up and runs. The cartridge connector has been cleaned quite a bit, but to no avail.
Does this sound familiar? Any tips for things to look for? Common faults in Nomad hardware?
BTW, this is running on AC input, so it's not a battery issue.
Thanks!

General common sense tells me that the first step would be opening it, clean it and looking carefully if there isnt anything burned inside...
good luck!

Oh, I opened it already, and a cursory glance shows no burst capacitors, fried resistors or diodes, or any other visual warnings. It's a clean unit as well.
I see more than a few "dead" Nomads on ebay, and I wonder if there is a common thread that the more technically adept folks have figured out.
