I know alot of games have used similar graphic engines and environments in the past.. probably to save on money and time, ect. but have you ever played a game before that has had the music remind you of another games score, maybe even having the same sound effects?
Now, i've been playing Y's 1 and 2 for a couple of days now, and have noticed that every time you open a treasure box or find something that the music is almost note to note the same as the discovery music in Metroid. Not only that, but in megaman 2 i've noticed that the intro to Flash Mans stage sounds alot like the music from the pit (undergound) section of Clash at Demonhead.
I'm probably just thinking too much into it. I mean, how many different sounding games can be produce? However, I would still like too know if anyone else has run across similarities in game music.

i know that the ooze and comix zone use the same soundset or whatever its called so you could say they sound similar.

Dragon Warrior 2 Overworld with all 3 characters and the 1st stage of Little Nemo sound just a little too similar.

Defender II and Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!

Flashman's Stage also sounds exactly like part of the opening theme to the old Nickelodeon show Wild and Crazy Kids.

Edit: City Connection, FF3j, and Gokujyou Parodius all feature a tune called "I stepped on a cat".

The music in Swat Kats (SNES) sounds like it's lifted straight out of a Megaman X game. Oddly enough, the play mechanics seem that way, as well... ;)
