Super Nintendo Pink Justifer : PICTURES ADDED 03/25/05

Hey Guys,

I have the Blue Justifer light gun by Konami for the SNES and the guide says it was a euro only release for the SEGA Genesis (Megadrive). I also have the Pink Justifier gun for the SNES also and it is listed the same. I know the pink gun is the same for both systems so maybe list it that way instead of just as being for the Genny? Also the pink gun is listed as being called the "Punisher" when it is clearly stamped "Justifier" right in the mold of the barrel on the gun. I can show some pics if you need them. Just thought I would try to help out.

I'll fix the Genesis hardware entry - it shouldn't be listed as Europe only.

As for the Punisher vs. Justifier thing: this guy disputes your claim:

i have no idea what's right but i'll do as much research as needed on the PAL SNES variant as soon as i find time...

It's possible they had two molds and two colors and all variations exist. This could be intentional or not -- I imagine if everybody who had the guns checked, and the numbers came out around 25% each for blue Justifie, blue Punisher, pink Justifier, pink Punisher, then it would probably be intentional. On the other hand of some of those variations were uncommon, or never seen, then it might have been unintentional ("hey, who put the pink plastic in the Justifier mold?!?").

Sadly, mine is too buried right now to check what I have...

The bluegun i had for the SNES wasnt stamped either justifier or punisher but it was claerly made be konami

It's funny because I distinctly remember discussing this very same issue last sumemr at the Toronto Video Game show with one of the Brockville crew. ;) But it appears that we are both right.

I have my picture right here though, to back me up. And for the record, my blue gun is in fact a 'Justifier', but the pink one (works, came with the other one when I bought the set from Microplay) is definitively a 'Punisher'.

I did just notice something though; my 'Punisher' doesen't have the Konami logo on it. In fact, it doesen't have anything on it whatsoever except 'The Punisher'

Maybe it's a clone afterall? It is otherwise the exact same color and as I previously said, works with the game and Justifier. Maybe I have the uber rare gun Shawn. ;)

Mine does have the konami label and a copyright date of 1993 all pictured below.

So what is the deal here? Is the punisher a knock off? Pnly reason I purpose that question is cause the Pink gun was only avalible threw mail order so maybe another company made one more avalible threw stores?

Hey Charles, open up your gun and see if the konami name is on the PCB's. I say this cause it's on both my blue and pink guns and that would let ya know if it was a knock off or not.

Well, I opened it up, and there's still no company name, copyright information or anything else really. Theres a serial number on the PCB 8301-02-A2 and that's it.

The gun is just as heavy as the Justifier, but it appears that it must be a clone.

I have a konami branded pink gun for genesis with Justifier on it. I'd guess that this is the official, and the punisher is a knockoff of some kind. oddly...

I got my pink gun in a large genesis lethal enforcers box, with manual and cart inside from when i worked at goodwill...no blue gun, but a pink one. What the hell.

I have the pink gun, but it dosen't say The Justifer OR The Punisher on it. It does have Konami's copyright on it though. The mystery thickens!

So in the guide will it now reflect that there is a SUPER NINTENDO version for the Justifer guns (blue & pink) now also? Cause it says its only for the GENESIS and well this thread has nearly pulled all the facts that it is for the SNES and the Genny, as well as much more info too :D

Pink JUSTIFER = REAL DEAL
Pink PUNISHER = 3rd Party CLONE

Blue Justifer = GENESIS & SNES
Pink Justifer = GENESIS & SNES
Pink Punisher = GENESIS & SNES

But one question is left, What is the rarity difference going to be between the Konami Mail order only PINK JUSTIFIER and the 3rd Party Commercially avaible Pink Punisher? Myself I would have to say a mail order only product would be much more rare. How about this:

Pink Justifer = R6 (?)
Pink Punisher = R4 (?)

Just my 5 bucks in 2 cent intervals

Yeah, we'll get all of this in there. I don't "own" the SNES section but it is in my possession at the moment :)
