Who's Your Favorite Sidekick in Video Games?

Sometimes the main hero needs a little assistance every now and again. Whether they attack enemies, heal damage, or just tag along, a sidekick can be a valuable asset. Besides, nobody wants to go on an adventure alone do they? I like sidekicks... in fact, the more, the merrier! I find that a nice trio of sidekicks make the journey a more personal affair, and I like sharing success. :-D

My favorite sidekick appears in a shoot'em up. Air Zonk is the main hero in the game of the same name. He's the one with the lighting bolt on his noggin. During the game, you can choose which sidekick you want to go through the stage with you. Air Zonk can merge with them too. Bob (the floating baseball under the 'o' in 'zonk') is my favorite sidekick in gaming. When Air Zonk merges with Bob, he becomes a major league pitcher and hurls rapid fastballs at enemies on the screen.

Tails is extremely adorable in the Game Boy Advance versions of Sonic the Hedgehog, so I'd have to go with him.
The worst video game sidekick has got to be that stupid grape that follows Kirby around in Kirby's Dream Land 3. You can keep him in your stomach if you want, but often times you'll press the wrong button and accidentally bring him out to play... a move you'll dearly regret. All of the sidekicks in Kirby's Dream Land 3 were pretty crummy, ranging from Kirby's blob-like girlfriend to the giant cat that rapes him, but the grape was the worst of the bunch.

I'd have to say the computer train hull side kick Mortimer who looked just like this " :-D " the lines Mortimer and Tully Bodine spewed back at each other throughout the game "Loadstar" were classic
