Hey, I have a Firewire question, too, so I might as well post it here.

Sony's iLink is just another name for a 4-pin Firewire connection. If I want to connect four PS2s together, though, I'd need to do it through a hub. So I looked at hubs, and I was wondering about this one here. (http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?DEPA=0&description=17-111-604&CMP=OTC-pr1c3watch&ATT=Networking)

It's a 4 port repeater hub with four six-pin connectors, 3 downstream and 1 upstream. What I want to know is this:

1) Can a four-pin connector plug directly into a six-pin port, or is an adapter needed?

2) What's the significance of having three downstream ports and one upstream port if I just want to connect four PS2s in a peer-to-peer network? Would I need a larger hub with four "downstream" ports instead?

If this is what I think it is, then no. The actual heads of both are shaped differently.
