Genesis 2, No Picture

Had a dream that I'd find some cool stuff at Goodwill ... Went the next day and found:
Sega Saturn - $8.99
Games - $2.99 each

Sega Genesis - $7.99
Games - $2.99 each

Well... The Sega Genesis will power-up but won't display a picture. Tested the RF wire on my other Genesis and it worked fine.

Any common problems with Genesis that could be this?

Actually, just took it apart and barely cleaned it... now for some reason it's working. Was making a really strange noise too but I turned it on and off a few times and that went away.

Barely cleaned the thing... It was super-clean to begin with. Everything is really tight on it, almost like it's never been used.
