How ironic...I was just thinking about how when i find the bastard that released all the Eidos Demo variants without changing disc artwork or copyright information it would be a very sunday bloody sunday.

Revolution X2: Featuring U2

I wonder how wise this is? I mean, any one of us would love to own a publishing company. But Eidos must have been in worse shape than I thought. They posted a loss of $50 million the first half of their fiscal year.

The thing that really struck out at me was the fact they were being offered more money, according to this article. But the Royal Bank of Scotland wouldn't give them a credit extension even though their was a prospective buyer in the wings. They must have a huge debt load.

I'll just wager a guess and say the Royal Bank of Scotland felt Bono's group must have a better chance of paying back that debt than the other guys. If the group offering more money looked like a crew that would pay down their debt, I would imagine they would have extended their financing..

But I like U2 and its cool that he's in the gaming business.

BTW why is it UK rockers seem to invest they're money and expand their roles when our guys just O'D in Vegas hotel rooms? :D

What the hell has Eidos put out in the last 5 years that hasn't sucked asshole though?

EDIT: So I looked around and they've put out some respectable titles... but nothing extrordinary. Project: Snowblind is probably the best thing to come out of that company since Tomb Raider II.

Hello hellllooooo.

We've got a game called Vertigo!

Sorry, couldn't resist.

So if Eidos doesn't come up with anything, will Bono stand at the end of the boardroom table and say "I still haven't found what I'm looking for?"

Sorry...still couldn't resist.

Does it really matter?...I don't think so.

Heh, I knew the U2 jokes would come rolling in. LOL

Considering the ticket prices for thier current tour, i'm sure that debt will be wiped away in no time. ;)

Well, it's a good thing that I'm not really into U2 anymore, otherwise I would be really disappointed that Bono is involved with such a crappy game developer. :P

Wow. That makes me even less interested in Euro developers. -_-

Huh? John Entwitstle (R.I.P.).

Huh? John Entwitstle (R.I.P.).That was obviously a joke. We Yanks can't compete with British Punk rockers in terms of deathwish lives. LOL
And certainly not The Who. They're dwindling down like the Beatles.. :(

As long as I get a new Legacy of Kain game (hopefully to finally wrap up the series) I'm happy.

Now wait a minute. This isn't quite the same thing as Bono waking up and saying "Oy! Feel like buying a game developer today." It's an investement group where he sits on the board of directors. Yeah, he's involved, but it's not the same as Bono buying it.

I love U2's music but I've got to agree. The last thing I'm looking for when I'm gaming is social guilt of the type Bonoo likes to dish out.

I can see it now. You're plugging away on Tomb Raider VI or whatever and suddenly the game freezes, and there's Bono going "Hey, you wanker! All this gold you've found would feed millions of starving children in Africa! Get off your arse and go help `em out, ya shite!"

On the other hand, if U2 can revive Eidos, their games might be pretty cool. Even better than the real thing...

Had to shoot for the slightly more obscure U2 reference...

If U2 can somehow help Eidos, more power to them, but damn..

Please don't release a game that compares to the monstrosity that is called Vertigo. ;-)

I like U2 their new album isn't that bad :D

but haven't edios always sucked in my opinion? TR was only good because of that guy who created it and then got fired and left,

their games (published or developed) don't seem to age to well either?

Fighting force eeeecchh, horrible (the game must have killed the Beat em up it stunk so bad)
FF2 bleh
Ominkron The Nomad Soul, love the intro but that's about it and maybe the graphics
TR 3-T5 chronicles, honicles whatever they're calling it now, PS movies suck too
Urban Chaos - gaa-aaaar-bage, really

Yeah. I figured it would grab more attention if I said Bono bought it then the name of the company. If I would have wrote it that way, then people would be like "Yeah so"?

Besides, Bono is the head of that company so technicly he did buy it.

So Bono is not allowed to talk about the state of the world because it upsets your delicate sensitivities? Please, give me a break!

In case you hadn't noticed, U2 don't exactly ram any of this down your throat in their songs, and to suggest that he would try to push it into video games is just insulting.

He has concerns, and he uses his influence in the media to get them heard. And why shouldn't he? You don't want to hear it? Fine - turn off the TV, don't read the article. Go and eat three Big Macs and buy some sweatshop trainers. But don't complain because someone else wants to do something about the state of the world.
