I've seen some classic games available for it(Space Invaders, Crazy Climber, Lode Runner, Ghouls and Ghosts) but I don't know if the earlier releases will play in color on the newer color systems.

I've got the WSC, and only three games. FF 2, Gundam, and Gunpey.
Gunpey's the only one I can understand (partly in english) and it's a pretty fun puzzle game.

i have a b+w wonderswan, a ws color (ff 1 version, boxed) and the following games:
final fantasy (rpg)
gun pey (puzzle)
armored unit (strategy)
clock tower (horror- port of super famicom version)
rockman & forte (platform)
crazy climber (arcade)
buffer's evolution (racing, er, action, er platformer)
there's a great selection of games out there- i just need a load of cash to buy them all, heh...
i also have a wonderborg, which is the coolest damn thing: an actual robot that you build and control with your ws! i've only seen video of it in action, lol- i haven't put the darn thing together yet, as i'm thinking of one day tracking down another one so i can try out the "interaction" feature... :D

I have a wonderswan color with Mr. Driller. It's a cool machine with a cool game. Not very easy on the hands though, clearly designed for small people.
I would love to have a GP32, but they are way too expensive :(

I have a GP32. and these games listed below. I like it alot. Thumbstick is similiar to the Neo Geo Pocket :-D Has a huge screen, infrared port for wireless multiplayer support, internet capabilities, downloadable content such as demo's and such, can use as an MP3 player. Alot of EMU's are in the works or are out so far for it. Games come on Smart Media Cards but you won't be able to copy them, i tried to put all my games on one big card but it won't work. If you buy from Lik-Sang the games will come in English, but the instructions are still in korean :-(
Tanggles Magic Square - puzzle game - pieces of fruit drop from the top and from the sides, you align the pieces in rows to make them dissapear.
Dooley Soccer - Soccer geared for the youngsters, very easy just kick and pass. Very easy to score, no depth at all. Teams include Monsters, Mummy's and such.
Dungeon and Guarder - Side scrlling action in the same vein as Golden Axe. Collect powerups, acquire new spells and such. Pretty good.
Little Wizard - Fighting game not bad, animation can seem choppy.
Treasure Island - Strategy game The screen is divided and there are holes on the screen you alternate turns by dropping bombs into the holes and trying to hit the other player. Bombs do not always come out the same hole that they are placed in so you must remember how the holes are alligned. You can find secret items like a telescope which lets you see at the start ofthe game how the holes are alligned. very fun, great graphics. My favorite.
Tomak: Saving The Earth, Again - Shooter Another one of my favorites. Very good looking anime style similiar to Keio Flying squadron and VERY HARD. You can change into different ships/types. Still trying to figure out what buttons do what hehe
DyHard With Infinite Stairs - platform You control jumping only. You characters moves from one side of the screen to the other on his own, you must jump onto platforms that either are stationary, moving up, right, left or down, conveyor belts ect. The longer you hold the button in the higher you will jump. You also have a super jump which will take you up several levels. If you miss a platform you will fall off and have to start over. It was kind of hard at first since you don't control the movement of your character, but once you time the jumpingit's not to bad.

IF the games were translated, I'd go for alot more of 'em.
The B&W games play in tones like GB games on a Super Game Boy, but NOT in color per se.
The WSC is indispensible for Crazy Climber. B&W as it is, it's gotta be the best platform for it, IMHO. The control scheme is perfect for it.
Space invaders is cool, but it's pretty much a direct port.
Mr. Driller is great, but it's missing Time Attack, the funnest part of Driller.
FF2 that I have I can't play.
I have another puzzler that's ok caller Gunpey I think? It's ok.
I have a few others that I haven't put enough time into to say much about.

I remember reading about the Wonder Witch, which allows you to develop your own WS games. The GP32 really looks attractive because of that huge screen. How much do they sell for?

i ALMOST got a used/complete wonder witch really cheap ($65 US), BUT i did some homework, and it only runs properly with a japanese pc os, not to mention that the entire manual is in japanese, lol! at least the wonderborg has english instructions and a partly translation in the manual... :D

I've hesitated on the Wonder Witch myself for those very reasons.
BTW, while we've got the attention of other handheld freaks, what is the deal with Wonderswan Crystal? Is it an upgrade as far as game quality? Is it back compatible? Why bother?

the ws crystal is no mystery at all- it's a thinner, clearer ws color. one of the coolest things (yet tough for collectors) is the way a japanese system changes during its lifespan. look at all the different gb systems that were released. also, the neo-geo pocket went through similar changes during its too-brief time on this earth (cue sad theme music, lol)... :D
