Smoke - smelling Manuals

I recently aquired numerous Genesis games, complete. Though the house I got them from were from a smoker's household, so they smelled of smoke because of it. Now i'm not against smokers, but I don't want the smoke to travel to my other games in the same bin. So I wiped down the cases and games with a damp cloth of FeBreeze. Solved that problem. Though i'm left with the most challenging one of them all. How do I get the smoke smell out of instruction manuals and maps without ruining the manuals and making the pages all wavy and such with water damage?

If they have been around smoke for many years then i am afraid that you will never completely remove the smell from the manuals.
