Today I recived one of those SNES convertors who allows you to play games from Japan and USA on a european SNES.
I fired it up with a SFC game and got no picutre. Thought the game might be dirty so i cleaned it, but still nothing. Then i tried to turn the game the other way around and after that i got a small stripe on my TV and now my SNES is dead.
I tried to change the AC adapter, but still dead. Anyone know why?

It could be a blown fuse. This should probably be in the Restoration section..

EDIT: But someone beat me to moving it! LOL

Ok, I wasnt sure to post it here or in the videogame discussion.
Is it easy to change this fuse? I guess i need a 4.5mm bit to open the SNES.

it all depends - its easy for me - yet my friend has trouble blowing his nose and needs help with everything
if you can identify all the fuses - you can check the continuity - with another tool
as far as i can tell looking at some crapy snes schematics i can see ony 1 fuse - in the power supply - ( 1 page is bad so im not sure about that one) -- suprises me - i would have expected a fuse going to the controler inputs for safety and i dont see any on the schematics - these are not offical so i dont exactly trust them whole heartedly

Assuming it's the fuse that often gioes, then it's dead easy to spot & replace. A risk of blown fuses was one of the reasons Nintendo warned against using convertor carts 'back in the day' (well, that and the fact that they didn't want people buying imports).
Check out Mr. Kitt's SNES repair thread here: http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=39162&highlight=snes+fuse

Ok, thanks for the help :)
But where do I buy a fuse like this? Is it a standar fuse or a spesial for SNES only?

You can just use a short length of wire instead. I did that to one of my broken SNES's a while back, and it's been OK since then. I've only used it lightly since though, so YMMV.

If you have any old snes consoles hangin around, Japanese, Pal or NTSC you can steal the fuse out of any of those suckers and replace your blown fuse..
I say this incase you have a few spares snes consoles hangin around, i know not everyone will have spares, but if you do thats a quick fix, and yes you will still have a Non-workin snes, but it's a temp fix. ;)
That reminds me i have to buy some fuses, instead of havin 4 pal and 3 ntsc dead consoles dammit.. LOL
Blown fuses are a major downside, when it comes to using converters and Pirate carts, i'v blow a few fuses using both.. :/
