Anybody know of a site where I can purchase
a NUON player?

I asked Jeeves and after an hour had no luck.

I am not that patient. Can one of you help me out?

Nuon-Dome regularly sells them, although they're out of stock right now. They're still the number one Nuon site on the net though. You might want to check there every so often.

Other than that, try eBay. eBay usually has a Nuon player or two available, and they're usually cheaper.

N501s (the best US Nuon player you can get) are getting more common on eBay than they used to be. I'd say there's usually a couple per month appear on there.

I would also maybe PM member K3V, he is a NUON fanatic. He is the resource when it comes to that stuff. NUON Dome too.

I don't have any for sale personally, but they do come up on Amazon occasionally, and eBay, as others have mentioned. Definitely be on the lookout for an N501 so you can play the homebrew releases.

Thanks for pimping the site for me guys :rocker:

Thanks for the info.

By the way.....any idea what I should expect to
pay on Ebay?

The price can fluctuate pretty widely. I got an N501 for $30 but it needed a power cable that I ordered from Samsungparts.com. For a mint one in box with everything, probably around $100, anywhere in-between for missing box, etc.

I was originally going to post this separately, then I saw this thread and thought it would fit in nicely here, and I'm sure that "T" would like to know the answer as well... which is the best Nuon controller? I only know of two that pop on eBay all the time--the Logitech Wingman and the Warrior gamepad. I'm looking for a second controller. I got a brand-new Logitech Wingman a couple of years ago, and while I like it for the most part, I'm not crazy about the shoulder buttons; they're very stiff. My question is, are they all like that normally? Or is the one I have an anomaly and should I get another one of those and hope that the buttons have a better feel? How does the Warrior gamepad play? What does anyone prefer? (I looked in the DP advance guide for some info and there weren't any controllers listed in the Nuon section (oops!)--but very complete and well-written otherwise.)

By the way, I've got an N501 and I love it. It's nice to know that I've got a system that can play homebrews (gotta order that new homebrew compilation from Nuon-Dome!) and Iron Soldier 3 (which I would have said "damn the torpedoes" and bid on this last time if the guy had accepted Paypal (credit card)).

First off, controller and other hardware/accessory information is due up next for the NUON section of the Advance Guide. It will definitely be ready for whenever Joe decides to do a second release, and should be up online before that.

The Warrior is perfectly fine as long as you don't want Analog control. It's strictly digital only. Otherwise it's a solid and responsive controller. The only other controller besides the Logitech is the Stealth, which is styled like an N64 controller, but with shorter side handles. To me the Stealth feels a bit on the flimsy side, but it has more responsive controls than the Logitech, especially on the analog stick. The Logitech is easily the most sturdy and most attractive of the three, but it does have it's issues.

I've got some brand new in the package Warrior controllers if anyone's interested. $10 plus shipping each (PayPal OK). Enjoy that Games+Demos disc too if you end up ordering one. It's pretty much been a hit with everyone so far.

The Toshiba is good if you just want to play the commercial games. It won't play the homebrew games and has a very limited VLM (only 8 effects compared to 152 on the N501). You can check out a comparison of the different NUON players here:
