Just think about it. How many Neo Geo Gold Systems or SuperGrafx systems or FM Towns or NES or Genesis or Atari 2600 or Colecovision or Intellivision or whatever systems are in land fills in the United States and other countries?
Especially the United States. We are a throw away society here in the U.S., as sad as that must be.
Now, you might be asking yourself, who the hell would throw away a video game system? Well, mostly non video gamers. Mothers, Fathers, Grandmothers, Aunt's, Uncles, etc. They find old systems in garages or attics or closets or whatever, and they are simply clearing out space.
You would like to think that most would sell them at Garage Sales or at least give them away to charities that do curb side pickup of items for donations.
Yet, you would probably be amazed at the number of lazy, non environmentally aware people there are that simply throw stuff in the trash.
It's a damn shame.
But anyways, to get back to the original topic, I'm curious, how many Atari 2600 systems were originally made and how many are currently in land fills or dumps or other waste sites?
