Because that's just the application for a Package 5. Package 5 is where you can get into E3 for free. Anyone who works in the electronic entertainment/software industry can get into E3 for free. Years back I was a manager at Babbage's and I got in for E3 2000-2002.

I got the same application in the mail this year even though I no longer work in the industry (they keep you on the mailing list forever). I can't use it because I can't provide and of the ID qualifiers to get me in.
The only thing different from the application on the website and the industry invitee application that this dude is selling is that the one that he's selling gets you two tickets instead of one. However, you can just print up an extra copy of the free application if you want your friend to go.

So it is not fake, it is just an application. So you could get tickets to the show by using this application and submitting it by the April 15th deadline that the seller lists.
So basiclly they are just selling something that anyone could download for free, but it still is a legitimate application.

This is a free addmission ticket to the show - but you must be in the industry or similar trade as in Game Store manager, wholesale of games, designer/art, electronics manufacturer, DVD replicator, Buyer, Merchandiser, Super store chain manager, Online retailer and more. You should be able to get in if your a legit person dealing with anything electronics, videogames, game stores, movies and entertainment.
You will need 2 proof of ID - Here are your options.
Comany Credit Card - Businees Ad (With Business Card) - Business License - Commercial Lease - Paycheck Stub - W-2 Form - Insurance Card.
Must sign up by April 15th to get badges in time for the show.

This, however, is VERY misleading. I wouldn't call this an illegal auction, just one that you have to really read the listing.
Plus be someone in the industry who doesn't know this is free and wants to go to E3.

It starts out with: "You are bidding on 2 tickets..." Which might lead someone to believe that they are actually getting tickets.
