I'll go home and check my Adventure manual, but it was interesting that a number of hits came up for both spellings on Google. From memory, I'm thinking it's "Yorkle", but you get more hits with "Yorgle" (run the search with "Adventure" as well, or you'll be sifting garbage). You see both spellings used at different places at AtariAge.
Is it possible that there were variations in the manuals?

I've only seen YORGLE. In fact, this is the first time I've ever seen "Yorkle". Maybe it is a variation, not one I've seen before.

In several online reproductions (retyped) of the manual, the following sentence appears as the sole use of the "Yorkle" spelling:
"When not guarding the Enchanted Chalice, Yorkle, the Yellow Dragon, roams freely about the Kingdom"
In these same online reproductions, the spelling Yorgle prevails in all other places. I don't know if each of these is reproducing a single error, or if that is the way the manual officially reads.
I'll have to see if this discrepancy is found in my manual. (I have the tele-games version.)

Either way, I'm guessing "Yorkle" is a typo. Ugh. Sounds like "Urkel." Imagine being chased aroud the catacombs by Steve Urkel...

"Did I do that?"
*shudder*
