Shoot em ups

I got playing Raiden DX on my ps1 emulator for xbox

And i must say that was the MOST FUN ive ever had.

Now i wodnered if there are any other nice retro shooters around, mainly upwards since i dont enjoy sidewards shooters like rtype or gradius.

Ive heard tg16 has some good ones but i know hardly anything about the system since it was never released in uk. Anything that can be found as a rom/psx iso is preferrable

There are several shmup recommendation threads around I think, you might search for those.

Dodonpachi was released for PS1, I only played the arcade version, but it's very recommendable. Also Strikers 1945 II is worth checking out for PS1.
