Howdy!

Well, here's a quick list of stuff I would recommend/suggest:
- Money. There are vendors and an auction and you're in San Fran so you'll want to do some shoppin', etc. You can never have too little cash for any and all impulse items.
- Stuff to have signed. When the speakers/special guest lists are posted, you may want to bring some items for them to sign. I had Don Bluth sign my Space Ace DVD. Nolan Bushnell signed some Pong machines and 2600s another year. The various game designers are often asked to sign carts and games they designed. A signed-by-the-creator item makes for a great trophy in any collection.
- Trade bait. There's going to be another swap meet this year. Have some items you'd like to trade off/sell? Bring 'em out! If you have a LOT, you may want to ship it to yourself via the mail service to arrive at the hotel when you do! (That way, you don't have to lug it all there.) Taking it back may be a problem, so be sure to trade it alll off, or don't bring a ton of stuff.
- Show-off stuff. Have anything you'd just like to show off to other gamers? This is the place. Ben Heckendorf can often be seen showing off the nifty handhelds he makes. Others might be showing off those one-of-a-kind-not-for-sale prototypes. Even if you can't buy this stuff, it's great seeing what others have discovered/created.

Yea the party is on Saturday, and is run by the DP mods (pretty much, and well known names). No underage drinking, it's not fair to them. If they get caught with underage drinkers they are screwed. So stay to the pepsi. ;)

Yes, there is a cover charge..... you can buy right them right now at www.cgexpo.com

I bet she'd enjoy it. The thing about gaming events like these is that parents get dragged along to it, and find that they almost have more experience with the subject matter than their kids. LOL

I don't know, my sister came along with me my first year (she's the one that got me into playing games in the first place) and even though she paid for both days she skipped the second. She was pretty bored after the first day (plus it WAS in Vegas then...).

So if you think she'd enjoy it, she probably will. But I'd try to make sure.
